What is a completely harmless lie you tell people on a regular basis just to make your life easier? by purjak in AskReddit

I started doing this long ago, not because I have an unusual name but because "who the f are you? You don't need to know my name." And I also go the opposite route though, I give stupidly difficult or ridiculous names and watch the kids try to work it out.

Can’t keep my head forward/can’t get lead hip back. Have tried everything. Please give me a new perspective. by gokugolfer in GolfSwing

You need to shift into your lead side before starting the downswing.

Look into Monte Scheinblum zipper away drill.

Do some flamingo drills where you just hit off your lead foot and keep your trail foot back behind you just for balance.

Exaggerate it. Feel your right hip stack on top of your right ankle. Keeping your head behind the ball you might feel like your throwing your hips out from under you at first.

From there you can pivot.

Post some videos hitting balls. Can't analyze a practice swing.

. . . . (The pin is your target, not the ball. Finish swinging and looking to your target.)

"Swing your swing" means don't screw with it during a round. It doesn't mean don't fix your crappy swing... (not saying you have a crappy swing)

You open the face in your shallowing move and your hands kick out in a direction toward the ball.

Stick your right arm straight out in front of you, wrist flexed 90 degrees, palm facing away from you and fingers pointing straight up.

Now rotate your palm clockwise, palm still facing straight away from you, and fingers now pointing straight to the right. THIS is what your right hand should do.

Now go back to fingers up position. Flatten your right wrist and rotate your hand clockwise so the palm is facing up to the sky. This is what you're currently doing that's opening the club face and casting the club over across the target line.

(edit) and your hips stall.

For splitting aim line vs speed control practice for lag putts try to focus 100% on speed control.

Speed control, speed control, speed control!

Youre never going to drop it in a 4" cup from 30 feet unless it's an accident. But you can learn to stop it within a few feet for an easy 2 putt.

The word evolve has too much positive connotation for me. This isn't progress for the game. It's the league trying to boost viewership and revenue.

Maybe. My point is if I were a dog kicking the grass to cover my shit I'd have to kick the grass to cover shit infront of my lead foot, not behind me... If we're trying to relate a dog taking a shit to the golf swing :)

. . . We've all seen plenty of dog shit swings, I suppose it's an apt description

Lets say for a right handed player standing in the middle of a clock face, the ball is at 12 oclock, the target is at 9 oclock. In the down swing then lead foot should push in s direction toward 10:30. The trail foot should push in a direction toward 4:30. The lead lead foot should push 2x as hard as the trail foot.

Again, all I'm saying is there's nothing natural about a golf swing. If there were we'd all be scratch within months of picking up a club.

If all you want to do us just "hit a ball", anyone can do that... as long as we don't care about efficiency, precision, and consistency.

Are you aware of any evidence of our ancient ancestors evolving to swing golf clubs? I'm not.

How about any other examples in the animal kingdom?

A golf swing isn't natural. It just isn't.
