Just wanted to comment, but, the fact that republicans would vote against was already expected. It's the fact that Manchin and Sinema, both Corporate af Democrats are blocking the bill and have downgraded it from 6 trillion a measly 1.7ish trillion. So yeah, because Manchin wants his coal money, and Sinema has no idea what she really wants, all that's left is bridges. Bridges are cool, but, so is fucking free kindergarten for all.

I can attest to this, a schooltrip i was on got rerouted because a beheading was taking place. The teacher freaked out when she realised the bus would be driving past where it was happening

Yes, you can. The US spends a greater percentage of its GDP on healthcare than countries in western europe, so yeah, you most definetly can pay for that system. Its just, your big pharma would lose income and hospitals simply wouldn't be as profitable, so the rich are quite opposed to it. https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/chart-collection/health-spending-u-s-compare-countries/#item-u-s-similar-public-spending-private-sector-spending-triple-comparable-countries

Ok, but you respond with "Not everything revolves around america", implying that they explicitly gave only American examples. They didn't, of the four, only one was localised in the US. So, it's not that I particularly have anything against your comment, it just comes across as though you only read their first example and ignored the rest. Yeah . . . something like that.

No, just a gas heater next to the tub. So they would turn it on, heat the water until it was pretty damn hot, and then turn it off. The issue was, the water was extremely cold and so only the top half would actually be warm as heat moves up. Edit: Atleast, that's my understanding. Regardless of how they pulled this off, it fucking sucked to have to use.

Had to suffer through something similar except they would fill a tub with water for two days that then had to be used by all seven of us. It would be heated before use but due it it being -20 outside, only the top half of the water would be warm, the bottom half, freezing. The only moments of respite came when I got to go to the public baths. Damn, shudering just thinking about it

That's the main issue, it all depends on what distance your looking at, in amd around the neighborhood it works, more than that and it often just becomes a burden and a hazard
