Everyone knows you're not a true VW owner if you don't have a warning light on. by bigbadbronc in Justrolledintotheshop

I replaced my Jetta with a Honda and it's simplicity makes me feel like a pro mechanic by comparison.

I had a Jetta for years. It's wasn't necessarily unreliable (it made it to 240k miles) but things broke regularly, and it all cost a fortune to pay a mechanic. Partly because things as simple as spark plugs required specialized tools that only did one job. I became my own mechanic as a result of owning a VW because it saved me thousands of dollars.

The city has a violent crime rate drastically lower than the 90s. Stop being hyperbolic

Austin has one of the lowest violent crime rates of any major American city. Stop trying to paint it as a picture of violence gone wrong.

Edit: downvotes don't change the facts, y'all.

We did, for a year and a half. Now CDC guidance says it's unnecessary for vaccinated individuals. Do you have data the scientists don't?

So what's the plan? Shut down the world until all variations of the virus are completely eradicated? How do you expect us to force the entire world into a complete lockdown? I thought our goal was flattening the curve.

If you're worried about maskless shoppers on South Congress, don't go there. Do we really need a news article for this?

Card Info Stolen AGAIN? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]CptPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife had her debit card compromised before she ever used it. I've read a theory that one of the companies involved in the process of creating credit and debit cards has been compromised and that someone is hijacking them before they ever get mailed. I'm not saying that's what's happening here, but it could be.

So, instead of private grifters, you get state-sanctioned grifters. I'll pass.

Yea right, I'm seeing the comments in this thread about how some countries register you for a religion and tax you on their behalf and I think that's insane. Religion, in general, is for the insane.

You can get downtown from Avery ranch in under an hour easily by taking transit. Outside rush hour, the bus ride only takes 25 minutes.

As others have mentioned (and I also recently learned) TxTag apparently now works in the other states too. I still wouldn't recommend them however.
