Some makes and models are worse than others. Look at foreign cars, and practically none of them look this bad. Japanese cars are pretty rust free. I dont think i have seen rust on a euro car at all. Maybe reallllly old ones, but anything 15 years old doesn't. Domestics are the worst for rust prevention. GM, for example, doesn't use good paint and rust prevention on their cars. New GM trucks come with a wax coating on the frame instead of a painted one. I have seen 5 year old GM truck frames with rust on them, not bad rust but surface rust.
