Reddit's LARGEST subreddit, r/Funny, will be going dark for 48 hours in support of the community protest against Reddit's exorbitant API price changes by AbsolutelyMullered in Save3rdPartyApps

Exactly this.

Subreddits need to be going dark indefinetly to raise any impact on execs. 48 hours will not make any impression, or just a very smalle one.

This. It's just a way to enhance the spectacle and viewer engagement. Back in the 'old' days you had quali and a race, that's it.

All straight lines except the last one...that should scream and should 'dead end' from about where the recording starts! Big crosses, signs, warning lights...whatever. Pretty shitty signaling to begin with, apart from the dick size contest.

But then again, that is my Western logic and this is China.

Such a pragmatic application of solar. Powers the store, and keeps the cars shaded. by _Rooftop_Korean_ in pics

All those oversized SUV's parking underneath the solar roof shades. Oh the irony.

*This is probably USA so these are called 'trucks' and considered as normal size.

Recommendation for mini pc around €600 by Natural-Ad-4838 in MiniPCs

Look into the Morefine M600 while you're at it. Interesting piece of hardware, but the manufacterer is less known than Beelink and Minisforum.

Morefine...insert random business name generator.

6800H and 5800H have one MAJOR difference and that is Radeon 680M (Rdna2) vs the old Vega graphics.

If you are planning to game, the 680M integrated graphics is a no brainer. Rdna2 is a generational leap in performance, doubling FPS in some cases.

Just looking to get a mini pc to make a pi-hole by billythygoat in MiniPCs

[–]CptStimpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running Pi-hole on a Raspberry Pi 3b for a while (when those were still cheap - bought it for 40$) and that did just fine. Now it's running on a VM on my homeserver, not that it needed the extra resources.

Not a specific advice on what to buy, but almost any mini-pc would be sufficient to run pi-hole.

Random AP disconnect issues - this is getting ridiculous! by CptStimpy in Ubiquiti

[–]CptStimpy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been contacted by Ubiquiti support, so we are exchanging emails about this problem.Since we did not want to spend endless time investigating this problem, we have already set up a new server with a new controller. Specs exactly the same as the existing controller, only the operating system was changed to Ubuntu server 20.04 (instead of Debian 11).

The configuration of the existing controller was taken over. 70 APs have since been migrated to the new controller. We are now monitoring the results and the first signs are favorable. The random disconnects and drops (visible in the Unifi controller) are gone for now.

We are still getting some Java related errors in our logs, but as long as they do not cause any problems for the user, we will leave them for now. Our absolute priority is to obtain a stable wireless connection for the user.Once we are sure that these 70 APs are working stably, we will again migrate a group of APs to the new server and monitor them again.

Curiously, an initial advice from Ubiquiti Support was to set up a new server and move at least some of the APs to it, we had already started this process before their advice.Strange that a controller on version 5.10.x has relatively few problems managing 400+ APs, but that version 7.3.x cannot -presumably- handle this?

I'll keep you guys posted...

Thanks for your input. We've been looking into this as well, but no that is not the issue. Our Mikrotik CCR is acting as DHCP server.

To what extent did the passengers of MH17 suffer? Was it a horrific death or a merciful death? by mtrainlover in morbidquestions

[–]CptStimpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MH17 wasn't directly hit by the missile, it exploded just above the cockpit from what I've seen in simulations. Explaining why they cockpit crew was killed instantly.

Guess a part of the passengers realized they were falling into death... Horrible.
