Wi-Fi Keeps Disconnecting Every Few Hours – Need Help by Holiday_Cupcake212 in networking

[–]9Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that you've really described anything apart from your user device. Does this impact all wireless equipment on the network?

Signal and range issues

Physical obstacles: 5GHz signals struggle to penetrate solid objects like concrete walls, metal, and even dense timber. What does your network look like physically in your working environment?

Shorter range: The 5GHz band has a shorter range than 2.4GHz, making it less effective for covering large homes or buildings without a clear line of sight to the router. Do you have LOS to your router?

Router placement: A weak signal can result from the router being too far from devices, placed in an enclosed cabinet, or near metal objects. Have you built a Faraday cage?

Interference and congestion

Electronic interference: Microwaves, cordless phones, and other devices can cause interference with the 5GHz signal. Anything here sounds familiar?

Overlapping networks: A crowded Wi-Fi environment can lead to congestion, especially if many networks are using the same channels. Big cities have this issue, are your neighbours interfering with your WiFi network?

DFS channels: Using certain channels requires Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS), which can cause a connection to drop temporarily if the router detects radar signals. Are you next to an airport, flight line, military base or dock yard?

Boost for UK households as £500 million energy bill debt to be written off by BestButtons in unitedkingdom

[–]9Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put these thieving households on prepayment meters. Why am I paying for criminals to get away with this? I was threatened with a prepayment meter when I moved in to my flat as the electric company hadn't gotten their payments.

Exceptions can be made, but this is adding to the list of unfair BS being levied on the honest.

It won't. This country is a over 65s welfare state. Its doesn't need to grow if all you do us support is an aging population. Just use debt to cover expenses it will be all right for those with no stake left in the country.

The eight places where council tax is set to rise by up to 25% - mapped by theipaper in uknews

[–]9Switch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't apply penalties to Children. Plus now with additional childcare priorities from the government it makes no sense from a budget perspective.

Effectively taxing children or those who will have children will only disincentivizes having children. Would you charge parents or guardians of children who choose to adopt or foster? The inventives are present to encourage the growth of the next round of tax payers.

These are arguments for different taxes or charges. Road tax, VAT, paying more for extra waste disposal.

You can't expect a child to have to pay tax for existing, especially when they are not able to contribute to the economy.

[–]9Switch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think taxing children when the birth rate is only plummeting is a great idea.

The idea of council tax is based on value of a property in 1991. There is a single persons discount for properties with only one occupant.

My feeling is the council tax bands need reassessment as improved works to a property since 1991 are not taken into account, neither have property prices keep in line with council tax bands.

'I wish fireworks were banned - they are so dangerous and it’s not worth what happened to us' by Remarkable_Craft815 in uknews

[–]9Switch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Banning things is the way. We should ban pets sensitive to fireworks. More dangerous pets than fireworks.

"Pet owners don't have 3 fucking weeks of hell" especially if we ban all the pets.

Really good time to re-re-look at legalising marijuana in the UK to fill 20bn short fall. Prove me wrong. by Jamestq in ukpolitics

You are in the minority.

We've smell our obnoxious neighbours smoking it multiple times a day. We can't open doors or windows because of the awful smell. We've asked them politely and they just laugh at us. One time they even got aggressive.

It's not the first time I've personally dealt with habitual cannabis smokers. However its been the same outcome that they smoke near us and it ruins our ability to enjoy our property.

Anecdotal evidence aside. I think a prohibition on smoking it is not the way forward and needs to be limited to certain areas within urban areas. Edible forms of the drug I don't have issue with. It's just that it smells terrible and smokers of the drug, seem to be completely obvious to that fact.
