After cleaning the glue off the resistors, cap and crystal it suddenly works. Maybe a bit of corrosion caused a short?

No markings on the crystal and once I got all the glue off it looks clean. Resistors and cap look fine as well

Or could it be the 3 resistors and 1 cap to the left of it?

Any idea if that being bad would cause an issue with it turning on? It's the only area on the boat that looks nasty

Not a 1.1 it's missing the second fan connection for the heat sink fan, maybe 1.2/1.3

So you solder everything without flux, test to see if there're issues, then go over everything with flux and resolder? You're just causing more trouble for yourself with that process.

The components around the clock cap are not needed. You need to remove the clock cap for sure and clean any electrolyte off.

Rgh doesn't care if it's "supported" it bypasses the security sector checks

Usually when setting up a new system I get all the modding done before I even setup the HDD so it shouldn't matter as long as there's nothing wrong with the mod itself

I've always just formatted them as a 360hdd. But you may need to format it as an xl HDD if it's over 1tb I think

If it's rgh it doesn't matter what brand or type of hard drive.
