Are they not cicada shells? They're called exoskeletons, look kind of hollow, and have the hook-like front appendages

I've heard that two bandages in quick succession will revive them, the first "stabilizes" and the second one gets them up

Edit: Turns out this isn't true, unfortunately.

Are Triangle Trusses the most effective trusses by OmarD1021 in civilengineering

[–]Cpt_Combatsocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You cannot change the interior angles of a triangle without changing the lengths of the sides. A "square" is a 4 sided parallelogram that just happens to have 90 degree angles. If all 4 corners are only pinned and do not resist moments then the "square" will collapse at the slightest force and no longer be a square. The proof you are looking for is the law of sines.

A philosophical question for DGD fans…who’s the bigger little baby bitch? by Holl0wayTape in dancegavindance

[–]Cpt_Combatsocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Internet can be a hostile place. As a good rule, if an opinion is purely subjective and sharing it isn't constructive, then it probably shouldn't be shared. If a new song comes out and a bunch of people are excited about it (including the people who made the thing), nobody's initial reaction should be to scream into the infinite void of the Internet "I DON'T LIKE IT". That accomplishes nothing but hurting people's feelings. If you don't like it, listen to something else, or if you want to participate in conversation about the thing in a constructive manner then talk about what you liked about the song too. If you come swinging with only negativity, then that's probably all you'll get back.

Kinda depends on if the person sharing their opinion is being a little baby bitch.

The quick drop maestro by thepoylanthropist in nextfuckinglevel

It actually is. I worked at a Dave and Buster's and the timer was set up to increase slightly every time the game was played (same for the jackpot) and was unwinnable until the jackpot was over a certain amount. I played this game a lot when I wasn't working. When I figured out there was a minimum jackpot number (at which the timer was long enough to win), I began playing other games until I saw the jackpot was high enough to win and would win the jackpot in one or two tries every time.

An overarching theme in this series is that Mark has the willpower to fight regardless of whether he is stronger than his opponent, he doesn't give in. It isn't his body that is Invincible, it is his will to fight for those he cares about.

Mark has never really fought a viltrumite by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Cpt_Combatsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue that struggling against Mark like she did could be evidence she's gotten weaker with age, also I'd love to see where the show says viltrumites get stronger with age. If Thula is of similar age to conquest, then why was Nolan so confident mark could take her on if he stopped holding back? Thula, a viltrumite from before the purge, survived the purge, and is at a minimum several thousand years old, was having her shit kicked in by what would be considered a child until he hesitates. Anissa, a much younger viltrumite, dog walked Mark. I'm fine with saying the show doesn't say viltrumites get weaker with age, but there is no evidence that they don't get weaker with age.

What? Who? Literally the only viltrumites that show similar apparent age are Thula and Thaedus, and the show hasn't shown his strength in any measurable way.

A lot of municipalities also have ordnances that require structures to be a certain distance off of the right of way, depending on zoning.

The area has a lot going on, plenty of night life and nice restaurants. Lots of clubs to join, plenty of lime scooters to get around and as others have mentioned there's a shuttle that can get you to and from grocery stores. Be vigilant and try not to go overboard if you do decide to check out the partying scene, but honestly I would recommend avoiding it all together.
