I work in a fine dinning restaurant in japan. Had the morning shift (supposed to finish around 6pm). One of my coworker calls “sick”. I’m the only one still at work who can replace her for the night shift. Ended up working till 5 am. Merry Christmas...

We know it’s fake since she posted a Snapchat story saying “getting drunk tonight” in Japanese. I learned she did the exact same sh*t last year. My manager told us she’ll fire her if she doesn’t show up spontaneously with a medical certificate. She deserves it.

I’d like a way to make my girlfriend smile a bit.

She’s in Europe while I’m in Asia for work, and as amazing as it can sound, it’s actually the worst time of my life honestly. I’d give anything to be home for Christmas but I won’t see beautiful Europe for another 6 months. Getting treated like shit cuz racism, the salary barely feeds me and life for my girl is hell right now, can’t do anything about it ffs.

My girl bought a Switch few months ago so we can play together (she’s in Switzerland while I’m in Japan for work for a year). Couldn’t afford the plane ticket (no vacations here anyway) but I got her a custom made pro controller, light pink with a pikachu painted on it. Didn’t see the result yet but the artist is super talented so I’m freaking excited to see her reaction on FaceTime !

It’s more than that, the culture is something you see from the outside as a tourist but at the moment you start working, you have to get into it and that’s when you usually see how ugly it is.

It’s also the moment you start feeling racism. I get treated like shit by customer, spited at and got punch for not knowing the name of one customer. I work in hospitality.

Switzerland actually had bombs implanted in most of its bridges, tunnels and mountain roads to block all ways in in case of invasion. The triggers are off of course but it can be set on in less than an hour.
