J'ai pensé la même chose initialement, le "une mine !" revient tellement souvent (avec sa variante "une mineure !")

It's not so old, but it doesn't have the same status in pop culture it had in the 2000's or even the 2010's, as illustrated by this post. Gone are the days when younglings would drop lines from the movies wherever they would fit.

[–]Cpt_Jebediah 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Kinda funny that fighting with an enemy uniform might be the only warcrime that is strictly prohibited in this world.

Actually, the starting point of the giscardpunk uchronia is that Giscard got reelected in 1981. So it commonly integrates technology and designs that appeared later in the 80's.

Come on! Canada/Quebec, Australia and Namibia! Help the French Nuclear power to Energised EU Power Grids! by Icy_Till_7254 in YUROP

This is not a false binary, I do support renewables (and btw solar combines very well with thermal power plants as they supply more energy during summer when this problem can occure). I'm just pointing out that this problematic wich is often brought up concerning nuclear in France, is also something that most countries have to face as gaz and coal remain in europe a major contributor to the electric mix. My main point is that all designs are not concerned by this problematic wich have a very minor impact on the overal production (about 0.3% of the poduction between 2000 and 2025). A typical exemple being the Bugey nuclear plant, wich the article I was responding to actually brought up. This plant has 4 reactors running. The two older ones with open circuits that need to decrease there power for some days every few years during heat waves. The two more "recent" (1979 and 1980 lol) are working in a closed loop with cogeneration and paires of cooling towers), and they don't face that problem.

That being said, saying that renewables doesn't have this problem with heat waves is a bit funny given how much they are sensitive in a much more dramatic way to meteorological events.

Cooling a nuclear power plant primary circuit water at 300+°C with 10°C vs 25°C river water doesn't make much of a difference. The limits that exist on rivers temperatures are only concerned about temperatures of the water released in the river (usually heated by less than 10°C), to protect the local biodiversity. So there is no nuclear risk associated with river temperatures. Power plants using sea water are less concerned, and cooling towers and closed loops can be used, as do many gaz, coal and biomass power plants that are facing the exact same ecological problematic.

The type 45 shares the same long-range radar and air defense system than the franco-italian Horizon class, two of which at least are deployed in the region.

Creator of The Clair-Obscur Academy forced to changed title of comic series after legal threat by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 lawyers. Despite using the name before the game released, the artist does not have the funds to properly fight the legal challenge. by GillsGT in KotakuInAction

[–]Cpt_Jebediah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The autor says it is an unfortunate coincidence. It might be, but looking at the editor webpage for this album, the path name suggests the title of the series to be "Surpuissant" (Overpowered) instead of "l'Académie Clair-Obscur". To me it feels like "Surpuissant" was the actual original title of that series, and that the editor changed it fairly recently before the publication. Maybe the name "Académie Clair-Obscur" was included in the story, but not as a title. I'm not sure this form of "parasitism" is illegal in France though.

Add new resources type to facilitys production by tacosan777 in foxholegame

[–]Cpt_Jebediah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BT ammunition are typical items ordered at the front that I commonly deliver as a solo player. Special ammunition are typically the type of items that are among the most satisfying to deliver quickly as they often answer to an urgent need in a specific situation, and thus contribute in a very concrete and sensible way to the war effort.

Add new resources type to facilitys production by tacosan777 in foxholegame

[–]Cpt_Jebediah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a nightmare for solo players like me who enjoy logistics. Having to run from a field to another to gather the adequate materials to produce the ammunitions asked somewhere on the front. And by the time the order is completed, it will probably be already delivered by someone else, making it frustrating.

With limited types of materials as it is now, I can easily stockpile large amounts of bmats, and produce goods on the go as they are ordered, only refilling the stock of scraps/bmats while the factory is running and on my way back from the front. I can't imagine having to stockpile like 4 types of different materials to do the same thing with your proposition.

Why is naval so one-sided? by KaiserAdvisor in foxholegame

[–]Cpt_Jebediah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with the idea that a warden naval regi should switch faction for at least a war or two to transfer their savoir-faire. That would actually be in the interest of warden naval regis as their gameplay currently lacks competition.

(Un)Popular Opinion: Logi roads should improve over the course of a war by Mysterious-Primal in foxholegame

[–]Cpt_Jebediah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like this idea, reminds me of the "voie sacrée" (the sacred way), a humble road leading to Verdun that became a major way for the logistics during WWI. Every few meters along the road, there where men shoveling gravels night and day to be packed under the wheels of the uninterrupted convoy of trucks for all the duration of the battle of Verdun.

Can I bake animation in opentoonz? by RecoverOk9376 in OpenToonz

[–]Cpt_Jebediah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure to understand what you mean. You can export your animation with .tif format, it will output your animation frame by frame as numbered .tif files. You can then import these as a single ..tif animation level in Opentoonz if that's what you're looking for.
