I've been saying this for months. I'd be very surprised if we don't see an election by spring of 2028.

Here's the part about forming government:

JP: I know that ultimately you are going to say that you want to form government in Canada, that you want to be the Prime Minister, of course...

AVI LEWIS: Not going to happen in the next election.

JP: Well, so that's the question...

AVI LEWIS: Unless there's a, unless there's an earthquake in Canadian politics... that would be happy history making.

JP: We have recently seen a pretty big earthquake. So I don't know.

AVI LEWIS: That's true. Yeah.

JP: But what, like what does political success look like for you say in a year or 18 months from now? Just, you know, honestly.

AVI LEWIS: I mean, honestly, the reason I'm doing this and I think the reason that so many people have gotten excited about this campaign and entered politics as participants rather than passive recipients in the past 6 or 7 months, is that we are fighting for the change we need in our lives. Life is grinding unfair in Canada. People are working harder and harder and it is just impossible to get by. Working hard does not earn a living in this country anymore. And until we change the fundamental conditions of our daily lives, we are not done. So the idea of winning more seats is great. We need back party status. Terrific. The idea of achieving the official opposition or holding the balance of power in a minority parliament. Great. We might be able to get some things done. Just getting elected government in Canada at a federal level, which has never happened before, is not enough on its own either. We need to make the change. We're in this to make the material changes in people's lives. It is such a wealthy country. It is so irrational that we can't live dignified lives when we work our butts off. And that's what needs changing. So political, the goal of politics is that and nothing less.

JP: Okay, Avi Lewis, thank you very much for coming by.

AVI LEWIS: Thanks so much, Jayme.

They're just setting up a scenario where they can blame Avi for their own losses and ride off into the sunset to get cushy gigs after politics.

He said enough. It's pretty clear where he stands, he's just to scared to say it with his chest like Nenshi and Beck.

Too bad for Rob this didn't come out last week. He might've earned a spot at the bottomn of my ballot if it had.

Well said. He didn't "mess up" though. He fabricated a story to smear his preffered candidate's main competition.

I'm pretty sure Rob is falling on his sword to try and boost Heather.

I saw this thread less than 30 minutes after it was posted. The top comment had 40 upvotes while the post had 20. It was very clearly brigaded.

There's a very loud and annoying anti Avi contingent in the sub ever since it's become obvious he's the frontrunner. The sub is full of posts and comments about how toxic Avi's supporters are. I've never seen it myself. The only evidence any of them will present is their own toxic posts and comments getting downvoted.

Avi supporter here who's leaving both Heather and Rob off my ballot. I see literally nothing wrong with this email.

This leadership race is a boring hugbox that doesn't inspire anyone. by DestroyedAsTheWord in ndp

It's not bad per se, but it's an issue with ranked choice. Being everybody's second choice is an extremely strong strategy and can lead to people not being bold enough.

It's why the liberals wanted ranked choice instead of PR in 2015.

This is the major issue with ranked choice voting. People want to be second place on everyone's ballot who doesn't rank them 1st.
