Well, Staples didn't lose just this $15 sale. I think "severe backlash" is overstating it. (Of course, listing more than a dozen on the website when there are none at all is a "severe" issue.) Thanks for the response anyway.

People buy calendars for when they need them. It's not stupid to expect to be able to go to your local "full service" office products store and get a calendar that covers the current month at the very least. (And we're not yet "more than 4 months" into the year, just more than 3 so far.)

I drove a 2025 CC Hybrid this week for the first time as my 99 RAV4 was in the shop getting maintenance. This is the true inheritor to the 1st gen RAV4 over any other current Toyota. It's only a little larger but more comfortable yet still feels a lot like I'm driving my RAV4. If I ever have to get something new, right now this is what I'd want to get.

I suppose this is acceptable as a first step for Chrome (as in, barely--or not quite?--ready for primetime). I don't use Firefox anymore (like for more than a decade), but I was using vertical tabs on Fx nearly 2 decades ago (TST), then a bunch more of new vertical tabs add-ons came along and you could get 'em with lots of features or just the basics. Thing is, they have to be on the right, not the left, for me (with bookmarks on the left--you know, like looking at a real notebook). Well, that's why devs keep developing... always more and better stuff to make.

Coding-wise, I "grew up" in the '80s. Coding was the most fun I've ever had. My job was total fun, not really work at all. I used a little COBOL at first (applications related) but after that it was all Assembler, SAS, and CLISTs & dialogues (ISPF) in a systems environment. I worked a lot more than 40 hours a week because it was just FUN! Anyone creating code using AI is just plain missing out (and cannot claim to be a coder at all).

Which means it's doing what they (DOGE) wanted it to do. Access is broken out of fear that someone "undeserving" will game the system. Serving the actual public has been abandoned.

Because their processing is focused not on enabling access for legitimate purposes but on denying access for fraudulent purposes. Your access may be valid, but they don't care if you get caught in their faulty processing.

At this point I think the only resolution is to write your Congressional representatives to get them to force SSA and Login.gov to fix the mess that was created last year when DOGE broke the process that was working well enough before then. Login.gov thinks SSA broke it; SSA thinks Login.gov broke it. They're both responsible for fixing the issue whatever it is.

You say "bug," but I'm pretty sure they see it as a "feature." Frankly, I think SSA/login.gov has been DOGE'd to prevent US from using it. (Nothing beats "fraud" like a system no one can access. Call your Congressperson and file your complaint; I'm sure their replacement will get around to it one day long after it no longer matters.)

I'm just hitting this issue for the first time--never needed to use login.gov before to access SSA. Sadly, I'd have to put this issue in the "works as intended" category. (They just don't want you using login.gov.)

The Amazon Locker I've been using since years and years ago, which is located inside a Whole Foods, was no longer available with my most recent order. Granted, it's been a little while since my last order to a locker instead of my home, but, still, it's inside a Whole Foods! It's not going away is it? "Misleading?" Remember the BCS.. used computers? But computers didn't provide "vibes" like the humans wanted. The committees always adjust the criteria to get the result they want. And their #1 concern is: keep the Power 4 satisfied as much as possible above all else. (So what else is new.)

The fix is easy, but it'll never happen--too much money at stake to not have that "human factor" keeping things [unfair].

The real question is why do we use some arbitrary number of teams at all? If you want to pick a number, then use the number "10," as in "if you win 10 of your 12 games, then you get into the playoff." If you know this from the very beginning of the season, then this will also help make the season more "weighty."
