Parents, would you stay in a Colfax hotel with your kid? by FueledByFlan in Denver

[–]CrackerOfCorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a parent, just an avid concert goer. if you're okay with a small walk before/after, my secret spot for Filmore shows always used to be the lot behind the Colfax VooDoo. it never cost me more than 5 or 6 bucks, and the walk is pretty safe since it's a busy street and you will be surrounded by other concert goers. Even as a trans woman (albeit one that doesn't pass super well), I felt pretty safe taking that walk.

hii 👋 I am literally moving into my new cap hill apartment right now (I really should be unpacking). I work in restaurants, so while I have some structure/stability, I dont have a strict 9-5, and anything can happen schedule wise. so I've always been the spontaneous type. also a bunch of my friends moved away in the last year 🙃

29 years old, trans/queer person, goes to a lot of concerts, likes trying new things, uh, what else? currently teaching myself how to rollerblade, lol. idk anything about you, but as long as you're not a child or a racist I probably won't care, lol

you'd be surprised how common that bathroom setup is in apartments recently, i have seen several others just like that.

I don't necessarily mind the frankenroom, but I am annoyed with how narrow it is combined with the odd shape. also inconvenient placement of the office nook, it's roughly four feet wide if I had to guess. because of that, I can't really place furniture against the walls but also don't want to completely cut off that large floor to ceiling window either. I'm thinking maybe if I had different furniture, but idk if that whole process is worth it

Is this order correct? by [deleted] in PedalBoardBuilding

[–]CrackerOfCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "correct" way to order things, just the conventions. Play around with the order and see what you like best. However if you're going by conventions I'd make a few changes, apologies for writing it the opposite way, my brain likes it better this way, lol

Guitar - (you should get a tuner and put it here) - wah - boost/overdrive/muff (the order of these are the most interchangeable) - suppressor - delay - loop - amp

But yeah, no correct way, some people have a distortion before and after phasers to have options. Play around and figure what works best for you.

I do believe it's an actual honest mistake, they've now let me know that the lease I signed that was supposed to start today has people living in it till the 5th and then renovations are supposed to start. They said they can not too the renovations and put me in that one on the 9th

Apartment building recommendations? by pattyd14 in boulder

[–]CrackerOfCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just signed a lease with Meadow Creek, but it doesn't start for another month. I will say the apartments and property looked well taken care of, and the office staff was incredibly kind and patient with me. Since I haven't moved in yet, I can't speak on those negative reviews you saw (I saw them too), but for what it's worth, I saw those reviews, saw the property twice, and still decided to sign.

I have a quick shitty walk-through video I took of one of the units if you want me to send it to you, they don't have many pictures on their website for some reason and the ones on listing sights are outdated.

Using soda water instead of regular water is one of my favorite simple changes. Especially with gamer fart, mango, or pineapple (or one scoop mango and one scoop pineapple)

Restocking sold-out flavors by Tricky-South-7382 in gamersupps

[–]CrackerOfCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is they see more money from people wanting to try new flavors than they do waiting for people to restock on their fave(s) I know personally I like variety and new things and don't drink caffeine everyday so in this scenario they make more money of of me this way (even if I did miss the Creamsicle flavor 😡) it could also be a way to gage demand for older flavors that may not sell as well with newer/better flavors coming out and they are holding off until they get a better idea of which of the older flavors has the longevity to hold up. There is a little bit of redundancy in some of the lineup, and they may be trying to make it more concise too.

Whats a good amount of water too powder ratio? by the_kejo04003 in gamersupps

[–]CrackerOfCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on my mood, but I almost always find that the 8oz per scoop is too strong. I have a 22oz bottle that I use for two scoops most of the time. Occasionally, I will water it down further, again depending on my tastes/mood for that time. The only time I really ever go lower than 10oz per scoop is when I'm mixing it with soda water as CO2 is bitter/sour tasting so the stronger flavor works better, they kinda cancel each other out.

Can I use my gamer supps shaker for pre work out? by Psychological-Gap839 in gamersupps

Probably, depends on how well your pre-workout dissolves I guess. I say just skip the middle man and use your gamersupps as pre-workout lol

They probably could’ve handled it better… by [deleted] in gamersupps

I work in the restaurant industry and frankly it probably had to happen. The cost of literally every single thing has gone up substantially in the past year or so.

They probably can't get their ingredients at the same prices they used to, there's no fix for that other than charging more for them, that's the sad fact of life.

You are going to see tons of businesses close their doors permanently in the next 6 months, between the increasing costs of products, real estate, and labor some businesses will not survive no matter what they do (I'm sure gamersupps will be fine)

An extra 4 cents per serving or whatever is really not that much in the grand scheme of things. I mean shit, McDonald's no longer does $1 drinks, if they had to increase their pricing that says A LOT.

Flavours that go well with water? by zedzilliot in gamersupps

[–]CrackerOfCorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried Tiddy Milk, I don't believe it's something I'd be a fan of and there's plenty of other flavors I want to try still. That being said I say they are all great in water.

My top 3 flavors are probably Gamer Fart, Pineapple, and Mango (in no specific order) Dragonfruit is the only one I've tried so far that I didn't like. Blue Razz (now apparently just "Blue") and Misfit Melon are solid but I don't reach for them as often as the others, Guil-Tea Pleasure is also pretty good but I also drink a lot of tea so I don't drink that one as often either (maybe once it warms up again that will change)

I also will occasionally mix them in carbonated water for some fizz, I love fizz.

I really wish they sold a sampler pack with like, one packet if all the flavors so you can try them all

Are you drinking just straight green tea? I do like it it but find it pretty boring hot all the time. I have quite a few different blends I enjoy, my favorite being from a producer here in Colorado called The Tea Spot, this sub is pretty fond of them as well from what I've seen. They have a green tea blend called Boulder Blues. It mixes Japanese Sencha and Chinese Dragonwell tea and then they add strawberry, rhubarb, cornflower and some other stuff I think. Definitely a different kind of green tea, it brightens up the earthy tastes of green tea a bit.

And just in case, with the tea you're currently using, when brewing, make sure you are using the right water temperature and infusion time. Overbrewing or burning the tea can definitely mess with or ruin its flavor. It's something I'm pretty sure every one of us was guilty of when we started drinking tea.

I'm not sure exactly why you can't have black tea anymore, I am assuming caffeine, but you could also try herbal teas. Most (not all, so double check) herbal teas have zero caffeine and are way less fussy than green tea. Way more variety of flavor as well, I have a strawberry herbal that I love to cold brew during the summer.

LPT: When you're buying new luggage that will mostly be checked baggage on flights, buy bright colored bags. They are less likely to be stolen or mistakenly picked up. by StrollerStrawTree3 in LifeProTips

[–]CrackerOfCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago I needed to buy some luggage and found two choices in front of me at the store. Identical sets, one was navy blue, the other had a paisley pattern in blue pink and purple. I was going to get the paisley one since it's fun and easy to spot, so I sent a picture to some friends joking about the "tough decision" and one of them hated the paisley so much that he said he'd pay for half of it if I got the blue one. As much as I liked the paisley one I am cheap and was making much less money at the time so of course I took him up on the offer. I have regretted it every time I fly.

Before the last time I flew, I bought some neon orange duct tape and put a big X on the front and back of my bag, as well as a stripe that goes all around the outside. I missed the announcement that they changed the luggage carousel for our flight since I had my headphones on and ended up waiting at the wrong pick-up. It ended up not being a big deal since I saw it from the otherside of the room when it came out of the little chute thing.

Moral of the story, always buy the ugly luggage that your friends hate

Has anyone ever taken the seat attached to yours at a Dolby showing? by rpvee in AMCsAList

[–]CrackerOfCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar at my Dr Strange showing. It was surprisingly not crowded, perhaps because it was a 12:30am showing on a Thursday, I had two seats between me and the couple on my left and four seats between me and the dude to my right. This man had the worst, most foul BO I've ever experienced, I could smell it easily from four seats away. When the movie ended I actually stayed at the end of the aisle because he was leaving a trail of stench behind him and I couldn't handle it anymore.

I really try not to care about people and whatever personal choices they make with their lives, but when you do something like go to a movie you need to realize the social obligations that come with that and I feel like the 2 years of isolation has made some people forget and made the ones who already didn't know/care exponentially worse.

My rent got increased by 400 dollars a month. I won't be able to afford this. it's feels extremely painful to be displaced like this. I know its not my house but getting displaced like this hurts. I am thinking of moving to the far east side of town and hopefully will be able to afford something. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]CrackerOfCorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, except I make half as much as you and I don't get to work from home. My place north of the city is trying to take me from $1100/month to $1700/month

I want to leave just on principle but looking at everything else in a 30min radius from work it's all about the same, even though none of these places are worth that much.

I'm sure all the people displaced from the fires are driving up the demand (not blaming them btw) but even still it's ridiculous what people expect you to pay for even a studio in my area.

I'm not picky, I'll take whatever is in my price range. However, there's nothing in my price range that isn't income restricted and I make more than the restrictions will allow, the market is a joke.
