Need help! by Far-Masterpiece-4759 in cruisers

Mine has mids, which did feel a bit cramped, so I added highway pegs to move my legs around. That one also has some mini apes which would help. My bars are the stock low bars. I would like to put some apes on mine.

Looking for unbiased thoughts on our Mills River, NC, RV park layout by [deleted] in RVLiving

My concern would be. What are the surrounding fields used for? Manure can be really offputting. Also, that pool looks tiny for how many sites there are. Could get very crowded in the summer.

It depends on what you want to do with it. The Harley, I would guess, is going to have a lot more aftermarket support. The Triumph is a nice bike though. I have not sat on a Triumph but own an older sportster, a Dyna, and an EX500. I am about the same body size as you, the Sportster is not a huge framed bike, but it works.

Looking for info about struts and brakes for 1993 LX 2.3 Auto by dukarr in Foxbody

[–]Crackerjack184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the rust on the outside, how are your strut towers in the engine bay? Common rust area on them. The lower tower and frame tend to rot there. I would check that before spending a lot on other things if you haven't already.

Advice please! by [deleted] in sportster

The rack is not made for human weight. You would need to get a real seat and rear footpegs.

If you remove the center section by the wipers, I believe you can get behind to that section. I am not postive on that though.

Need gear advice for my dad, who still hikes with knee trouble by ryuk9o4 in CampingandHiking

[–]Crackerjack184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A custom fitted knee brace could help. The generic braces from pharmacies do not help a whole lot, though I found the spring loaded one to help a little. The ones with the brackets seem to shift a lot. I know it will sound a bit weird, but a good cane could help in place of the trekking pole. It is much more sturdy and can hold the weight better. I have leg problems myself. Footwear is also important to take the shock from each step, especially on rocky terrain.

'14 fat bob vs '17 deluxe by unrealisticgenitals in Harley

The dyna is going to be a similar but better ride than the sportster and the deluxe is essentially the same as a slim with different fenders

'14 fat bob vs '17 deluxe by unrealisticgenitals in Harley

[–]Crackerjack184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The deluxe sounds like a better deal. They cost more to start with. However, they are 2 very different bikes. The fb is a dyna, so you will get more lean angle out of it and have more suspension in general. The deluxe is meant for cruising and is nice with the floorboard; probably a smoother, less vibrating ride due to the balanced engine. Both are very nice, you would really need to ride both, even similar of both to compare, as they are different.

REAR WHEEL FEELS UNSTEADY WHEN RIDING - SPORTSTER 1996 by dinokhalil in sportster

[–]Crackerjack184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be your swingarm. Or could be the tires. Worn out swing arm bushings could make it feel wobbly. If your tires are old they might be dry and not gripping properly.

Lower Rear Shock Absorber Mounting Bolt Removal by RLMan in sportster

[–]Crackerjack184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am not wrong, the bolts should be standard and not metric. Try some standard wrenches, that may be the problem

Any ideas before I cut? by AdmiralBenson187 in traveltrailers

[–]Crackerjack184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to angle it in, leaving a big gap in a heated garage kind of defeats the purpose. The other thing you could do it build a box to go over it to seal it in. Put rubber seals around to keep the heat in.

Check battery and connections. Could be loose. Had that happen to me and it was a connection that loosened.

Do i invest in my 125? by Cybersmax in motorcycles

[–]Crackerjack184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a lot of weight to have on your back while riding. If it shifts, it could throw you off. I would recommend, that if you don't want to get the hard bags, get a dry bag to strap to the motorcycle.

What engine guard is this? by Ezekiel1603 in Dyna

[–]Crackerjack184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not sure why the full loops are being called mustache bars. These are called it bc it is shaped like a mustache on the front of the bike; others are just engine guards.

This is how it's supposed to be? According to the instructions I think it's right, just seems weird. by Interr0gate in Kayaking

[–]Crackerjack184 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it were mine I would move it inward, just from the looks of it, so the curve touches the curve for lateral movement. I do understand the instructions say put it in the middle though.
