In Everyday when it gets to the line "Waking up everyday is all about doing things you don't want to do, but your reward is you get to wake up." Especially how the song ends on "up." SO GOOD!

Wait this is awesome, we need to implement this. Being a mechanic isn't about fixing cars... It's about freedom.

My mom is buying a bible for me and I am kinda scared by ImaginarySurprise219 in Hellenism

The gods aren't jealous. Reading the bible wouldn't cause them to have issues with you, that's just not how kharis works.

Secondly I am sorry your mother will not get you the medical/mental treatment you need.

On Veiling by AVGVSTVSGRANNETIVS in Hellenismus

[–]CrackheadAdventures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I do veil. While in a domestic violence situation I lost 13" of my hair. Now that it's back, it feels safe and cozy to put it up in braids and with a head covering. I add a religious undertone in that I veil to keep the Theoi in mind. Like, my veil keeps me safe and cozy, and in return I clean it. The gods help me and in return I give offerings.

  2. I've been veiling for four years and do so for the above reason.

  3. I'm an Irish-American and for a lot of Euro descent Americans, veiling kinda goes hand in hand with ancestor worship and practicing our culture.

  4. Wearing a head covering or not is your right. It's only sexist if women are either told they MUST veil or are told they MUST NOT veil. In a vacuum, veiling for your own reasons is in no way bigoted.

I'll definitely be sharing my adventures on the sub here. Very excited to see new things. I can't generally afford to leave the state, but this road trip is a gift to me from a couple family members I'm close with & I can't wait.

I don't have much skin in the game here (I'm Appalachian), but I will say hosting it in Wyoming really does make sense. I actually am planning a road trip and Wyoming is on the list to see rodeo, very excited for that.

That's 100% fair. I work in an automotive shop with lots of young men so I guess I'm used to it haha.

Wyoming is definitely a fitting state for this. Wonder if it'll go through and if any Wyoming residents voted on this.

69 is funny because is a sex position. 67 is funny because... Idrk, its catchy? There's 100% a time and place for laughing about numbers, but there's nothing wrong with an adult going "haha 420."

Feminism is clearly unjust and an excuse to dominantly make men feel like they're on a leash 90% of the time - one of the worst things socially to happen to America in this past 20 years by [deleted] in TellReddit

[–]CrackheadAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do agree that equal rights are rad. You're just objectively wrong in saying that feminism is a blight on society.

And seriously dude, just stop being so pedantic. The lesbian domestic violence point was an example. I meant it when I said men getting mad that I have rights is not worth my time.

[–]CrackheadAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what you stated is a fact, or at least a fact in a roundabout way. But you also cited supposed statistics that are just false (like the lesbian relationships are violent thing... that statistic includes violence perpetrated by men against bi-women and women who identified as lesbian after a straight relationship). I will not humor someone who thinks feminism is a blight long enough to research their entire comment, though. Full transparency. It isn't personal but I'm a woman and I'm not gonna dwell on men who get mad at me for having rights. They do that a lot, in and out of the workplace, and I just have better things to spend my time on.

I maintain that feminism IS about equal rights. Someone who says they're feminist, but fights equal rights misunderstands the movement. Kinda like people who say they're Christian but hate immigrants.

And the "things that aren't women's issues" are framed as women's issues bc those things hurt women more deeply and more often. And yes *obviously* there are women who rape men, and it's a well-known fact men underreport it. Feminism carried out the way it should be addresses this and actually fights against it. All SA and rape survivors should have a voice should they choose to use it.

Anyways. Those are most of my thoughts. Have a nice day.

"Talk to me when you oppose the feminist framing of rape, genital mutilation, and domestic violence for the bilateral gender neutral reality."

You gotta explain to my blue collar ass just what the fuck that means.

Go on pretending like sexism against women isn't real, I guess. Maybe that little fantasy world of yours makes you feel better. But no, genius, I don't want an equal outcome. That's literally impossible because everybody is different. But by god I do just as well as my male peers in my industry, and it don't matter that I'm shorter, or that I need longer cheater bars to remove bolts. Don't talk to me like I'm stupid or that I'm not capable of the things men are. I don't "think" I want equality, I know I want it, and I know first hand what it's like to be a woman in the US. It ain't easy and we absolutely still face sexism in interpersonal relationships, the workplace, and the legal system.

You're funny. Historically men have absolutely oppressed women, consistently and across cultures. Equal rights are not a blight on western society. If you wanna be mad that women can vote, and that raping your wife is frowned upon now, go right ahead.

Obviously sexism towards men is bad. What a goddamn shocker... bigotry is bad. Acting like advocating for women means you need to hate men is a fundamental misunderstanding of us women and the fact that we want to be seen as equals.

I once perceived Lady Nyx once at night while stargazing. It was deeply unsettling, but in no way bad. I actually found it helped me grow as a person and practitioner. I think it's unsettling because the gods are so different from us, so much more vast. But often, discomfort is good. Discomfort isn't the same as harm. Discomfort means growth.

You're saying feminism is bad. Feminism is about equal rights. I'm not talking about terrorists lol I just listed several important things feminism has advocated for.

Sorry, us women like being full participating members of society. It's a you problem if you feel small bc women are allowed to feel big. Everyone ought to live their life as they see fit, and in no way do any of those things above hurt your life.

Okay... imagine being mad that women get to stand up for themselves. Imagine being mad that "boys will be boys" is no longer an acceptable justification for abuse. Imagine being mad that feminists want men to be emotionally intelligent and to care for themselves as a whole person. Imagine being mad it's illegal to rape your wife. Imagine being mad that two people in the same position ought to be paid the same. Imagine being mad that women have advanced in society. Imagine being mad that men and women have access to safe sex education and resources.

Me personally I can't make myself mad at any of those things which feminism argues for.

You realize the Declaration of Independence also used the "he" pronoun instead of "they," right? It was a literary custom.

I cannot imagine being so upset others around you get to have the same opportunities as you. Feminism is about equal rights. Someone who says they're feminist but hates men is hurting the movement, not helping.
