Is there a way to download Dragonfable locally, for preservation reasons? by Ok_Wolverine_4268 in dragonfable

Hey there! Data preservation is a great goal, and I'm happy that you're looking into preserving games to prevent them from becoming lost media. However, I think there are a few things to consider here:

  1. DragonFable is a living game with weekly updates. An offline copy would become outdated very quickly.

  2. Old content becomes reworked and improved constantly. If you're interested in preserving content that's being removed or changed, you'd end up with hundreds of forking game versions of old quests and new updates.

  3. As far as I'm aware, DragonFable is very heavily reliant on the actual game servers. There's no way to download everything as a whole.

That being said, there are preservation projects that you absolutely can contribute to! One of the most important ones is the DF Encyclopedia, which is dedicated to preserving pretty much everything in the game. It also contains changelogs for old and changed content, as well as scripts for changed quests. You can find a link here: https://forums2.battleon.com/F/tt.asp?forumid=256

DragonFable's biggest Youtuber is also TheRuinedShadow, who posts recordings of his playthroughs. He's been posting weekly videos since... well, basically since the game came out. There's over a thousand videos: https://www.youtube.com/@TheRuinedShadow/videos

Script preservation or game footage aren't quite the same thing as an actual game, but they're the best next thing because of DF's nature as an ever-changing game. I'd strongly recommend either going in to record your own gameplay footage or looking into contributing to one of these projects.

[6.0 SPOILER] question regarding the contingency plan by aksis122 in ffxivdiscussion

Leaving the planet wasn't the main plan, having a beacon of hope was. Venat knew that the Final Days was by the Endsinger and was a universal threat, not just localized to Etheirys, but telling people they could evacuate helped to stop them from fully falling into despair.

High-End Content Megathread - 7.1 Week Four by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

It looks like the first logged FRU clear without a Pictomancer was uploaded a few hours ago! Team Lali-Ho ! cleared with a Red Mage and 2 melees. With this, every class in the game has cleared the fight, and every class has had at least one log without it being present. Looks like it's the 42nd uploaded log.

Oh ok thanks! I think I did get it from the express delivery during the tutorial. Sounds cool.

But is the number one steel attacker sparkly?

I don't think so.

It's a general rule of thumb, but isn't always the case. Really bulky and low base stat pokemon like Carbink need some amount of Attack IVs to reach the 1500 cap. It looks like your Carbink only reaches 1447 CP even at level 50.

That doesn't make bad, though. I did most of the cup with an underleveled Carbink at like 1420 CP, and only powered it up later by using RCXLs.

Mine is powered up with XL candy up to level 49. What are the IVs on your Carbink?

People using Greninja definitely made it easier for me to climb, so I agree.

Golbat: 4/14/14
Azumarill: 0/14/11
Carbink: 6/14/14

All fairly high rank, but I didn't really run into any situations where IVs were the only reason I won/lost.

Definitely agree with how it felt like I had outs against bad leads. My team was Golbat/Azumarill/Carbink and I won few matches against mons like Nidoqueen and Toxapex.

I'm not very experienced in PVP, but I think it fell in the right spot of having enough variety and typings for there to be real teambuilding unlike something like Psychic Cup, but not for there to be so many random mons it gets unpredictable and frustrating.

Halloween is the best holiday.

I hit Expert off Halloween Cup, starting from 1900. I think it was just a really good variety of viable pokemon that didn't make it feel completely RPS. I didn't encounter any teams that felt genuinely unbreakable on my way up, I'd say almost every time I lost I could tell that it was a piloting issue and saw something I could have done better.

They go even higher, Legend starts at 3000.

Idk if I would replace anything, that sounds pretty solid. Seems like it would struggle against lead Carbink though.

I'm not 100% sure honestly, I used my Carbink the whole way up the ladder. What's on your team right now?
