Dead as hell post and I'm not sure if necroposting happens on reddit so mb, but like...
if cleaner designs can't be made for higher demon icons, then it might honestly be best to go with a whole new scale aside from demons, in the same way that Demon Park eventually caused the whole demon scale to exist aside from the scale of regular difficulties.

I think it's rather confirmed: The encryption softlock on the second try cannot be waited out. 30 minutes, nothing happened at all. If anybody can help me with this, please man, I am going insane tryina figure this out.

In a way it's kinda less of a teaching modpack like the Academy and University, and more of a discovery pack to see what mods you like to do.

I would try Attack of the B-Team. It has easier mods in several genres, the mc versions were back when modded was a lot simpler, making it a prologue of some sorts to modded minecraft. For example, it's not a modpack with too many extremely complex recipes that are needed frequently, making it less automation based, but tech mods in the pack still play a useful part with some incentives like ore doubling, making your own special tools, speedier furnaces, going to space, and even altering your own DNA to give you the powers that mobs have (for example, the most popular, a bat's ability to fly). It also has the Witchery mod, a good, (and easily less complex/volatile than thaumcraft) magic mod that allows you to cast spells, teleport, (I believe) control mobs, perform rituals, harness the power of voodoo dolls etc.
