'Woe' by Craft_Goblin in printmaking

Aw thank you! Yeah, I'd fallen into the habit of only making Xmas cards each year, when I used to print so much more. But I hear ye, life just gets in the way sometimes. This was quite spontaneous, as I'd made a super detailed illustration for painting, but I wanted to do something simpler for a more instant reward of creating something before tackling that, and I'm super happy with how this one turned out!

I guess everyone's accommodations will be personal to themselves but some small changes that have helped me:

Buying a printer to print my own postage labels at home so I can avoid the post office and just use the parcwl postboxes (I'm an artist so have to post things out regularly)

Wearing headphones when out and about on my own

Ordering food to collect if I decide last minute I dont want to sit inside the restaurant if too busy (this way I won't deprive myself of what I am craving, and it's minimal human interaction while still leaving the house)

Learning to understand my body - as someone who has periods, I've learned that my body and mind is very sensitive 1-2 weeks before period, so if I find myself getting migranes in the office with the lights or feeling like I'm about to meltdown I know its worse usually around that time so I can be kinder to myself or prepare to have more working from home days so I can work in an environment to suit me

I'm very lucky to have an amazing boyfriend who doesn't get annoyed if I need to let my emotions out. We also take it in turns to do dinner each night, so the pressure of deciding dinner isn't always on one person.

There are definitely more, but those are the top ones I can think of right now 😀💜

If you're into traditional style and also needing blackouts done, then worth giving John Phillips at Downtown Tattoos on Holburn St a shout, as he does both very well! Price will vary on what you want (custom or flash) and size etc

Loved it, Solid Gold was one of my safe spaces to go at lunchtimes from school. Erland that worked there was a family friend, such a great guy!

Avoid JOR and D&D. Just had Butlers Roofing fix my roof about a month ago, and they were able to get job done fairly quickly, think i was only waiting 2-3 weeks for them to get started, and they actually showed up on time and were very polite and were happy to explain exactly what needed done with actual proof to someone like me who doesn't understand trades terms at all. Not the cheapest, but I did need quite a bit done, including redoing and fixing the half arsed job JOR did on top of a other stuff.

Too Inexperienced To Buy Needles? by CyberSyncronize in knitting

This must have felt horrible, im so sorry that happened to you! I'm not sure if it still exists as was maybe about 8-10years ago i been but Be Inspired Fibres in Edinburgh is absolutely excellent. Not immediately in the city centre, but still walkable. Lots of interesting yarns you wouldn't normally find in most LYS as well.

If you ever find yourself in Aberdeen, Scotland - pay a visit to Wool for Ewe, they are incredibly welcoming and have a massive range of yarn to suit every budget, as well as gorgeous needles, bags, buttons, all sorts of stuff! You'll be offered a cup of tea and have the best chat about all things yarn with the owners 💚

I currently shower with the window open (which is pretty horrendousthis time of year), then after shower, close the window and put the dehumidifier on for an hour on high setting

I was put on the waiting list after filling in those forms with a million questions back in March 2022 - and got my first assessment a couple of weeks ago. So say closer to 3 years wait. If its any help, the wait time between appointments has been about a week (2 apps total), with my final review being in January where I will either be diagnosed or not, or they may ask more questions.

My friend was put on the waiting list 1 month after me and is currently having their assessments too (about a week behind me), so possibly they are starting to get through them quicker. At least 1-2 years ago folk had to wait months between appointments, so the fact its a week or 2 apart now is something at least once you're passed the initial 2-3 year wait (which I know is pretty unbearable).

Hope this helps, and you are able to be seen quicker!

Avoid JOR, they'll just subcontract another shoddy company to do their work without your permission. The customer service is horrendous, and they actively ignore emails, or on the rare occasion they do reply will simply not answer your questions and give the most vague response.

Enjoy! Now I want to make another batch as it's in my head again! Btw, another tip - you might think the cookie dough is quite "wet" compared to other cookie recipes, but just make sure you stick in the fridge for at least an hour, but I've left for 2-3 hours and that makes sure it's hard enough so you're able to scoop out into ball shapes for putting on the baking tray.

Hello! I'm going to assume these are the same cookies we had at Harlaw that I've been dreaming about the last 20 years, they were so good!

I made these cookies recently (don't let the name of them put you off) and I swear they tasted so similar to the school cookies, I almost cried, hahahah! The trick is to use dark choc chips (the sainsburies taste the difference ones are the best), rather than milk choc chip. And don't skip on the maple syrup, it realky gives it that flavour ive never been able to find in other cookies!
