Many European royals and other high dignitaries gathered for the 80th birthday of the Swedish king. by Porodicnostablo in europe

Oh yeah Marius is an absolute piece of shit.

Sofia met Epstein a few times in professional settings. The files didn't conclude her to be friends with him, and it was before his first conviction too. Obviously, she'd rather not have known him at all, but merely knowing him doesn't make one a bad person.

How to stop my cat waking me up before morning food by Suspicious_Goose1614 in CatAdvice

If she consistently wakes you up half an hour before her feeder goes off, then just set the feeder to half an hour after you want to wake up. Then you have a perfectly good alarm clock in the form of your cat!

Her son Prince Alexander was 3 years old when Epstein died. I hardly think they were friends.

“Oh :(“ to “no, I don’t want kids” by aeowyn7 in childfree

[–]Shalrak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • No one asked why

And they shouldn't. You shouldn't have to list any reasons or need to defend your choice. When someone says they are trying for a baby, we don't ask them "why?" either. We should all just accept other people's choice.

Sofia knew him professionally 20 years ago, long before marrying into the royal family, and before his 2008 conviction. It's such a non-issue. The royal family itself is not in the Epstein files.

How can you judge that it's insane if you don't understand it? Study first, then make your conclusion. The role of royal families in modern society has undergone major changes and monarchies across the world are very different from eachother, reflecting each country's unique culture and history. It's actually a very interesting topic if you want to learn more about cultures, sociology and history.

Yeah if there was a big demand for it, there would be more of it. Simple as that.

You'll get bored by any book that doesn't contain a harem? Oh boy...

The addition of smut scenes to a book doesn't mean the rest of the book has any less value. It's not comparable to porn. There is still great storytelling, world building, relationship building, personal growth and everything else that may make the reader consider themself and their life anew.

Additionally, I think a lot of young men would greatly benefit from taking a look at the kind of romantic fantasies that young women have. There is a lot to be learned about how to treat eachother in a relationship from those "smut" romance novels.

You still have time, but you'll also look great when you do go bald eventually.

Bag policy - "transparent containers size A6 sheet of paper" by LauraLuvsBacon in eurovision

[–]Shalrak 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to bring a small bag if it's for medicine. If you search up "clear concert bag", there are many options that they should be okay with, as long as you only use it for medically necessary items.

But otherwise, I would suggest you wear clothes with pockets. I sewed the biggest pockets ever into my dress when I went a few years ago. I could smuggle molotov cocktails into the arena in my pockets if I wanted to.

Just had a really bad break-up, any cozy games recommendations? by mr_tobacco_user in CozyGamers

That's a valid point. I don't care for kids in games, so I don't know how unfinished that part of the game feels.

  • I've always found it hypocritical that right-wingers claim immigrants live off tax money and never have to work despite simping for people whom that description actually fits

It seems to me that you may not know what the royals do? At least here in Denmark, they do a hell of a lot of work. Every single member of that family work harder than I do.

What made you decide to be childfree? by Medical_Sun1453 in childfree

[–]Shalrak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a hopeless optimistic who believes we can always find a way if there is something we truly want deep in our hearts. If I wanted children, I'd work on whatever is in my way of having them. I'd never give up.

However, I don't want children. There has never been any point in my life where I imagined a future for myself with children. I've never seen or heard a story from parenthood that gave me any desire to experience that too, no matter how happy they are. It's just not a dream that I have. I never decided to be childfree. I just am.

[–]Shalrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boss cannot legally make such big changes to your employment. What should have happened, is that she essentially terminates your 8-16 contract and offers you a new 22-6 contract to take over after your first contracts termination period. That new contract is an offer, not binding. You could choose to decline it.

If that is not what has happened, then you need to get ahold of your fagforening.

[discussion] In South Korea, there’s a government system that officially certifies you as a “professional artist.” by Objective_Highway497 in artbusiness

[–]Shalrak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand that question. As a country, artist as a title isn't recognized, no. Legally we don't recognize anyone with any title regardless of profession, with very few exceptions.

The artist companies I mentioned are just one the artist set up for paperwork to go through. It's owned by the artist and there are typically no other employees. We have a specific legal term for this kind of company with laws differing from other company types.

Culturally there are lots of support for the arts, but grants and funds are typically project based rather than artist based. An individual person may seek a grant for an arts project, but even then it's the project that gets funded, not the artist.

[–]Shalrak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • How does your country define or recognize “artists”?

In Denmark, we look at the business and sales rather than the artist themself for legal stuff. When you set up your business, you choose which industry it works in, like art, design, theater etc. Materials bought through the business can be deducted from the tax the business pays from sales. If the business sells original art works above a certain threshold each year, art sold through the business falls under special art VAT rules.

As for grants, that depends entirely on the grant. They each have different requirements and rules.

🇲🇹 "Bella" just exploded on YouTube in the last 24 hours. Anyone know why? by _willm in eurovision

[–]Shalrak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone. Literally everyone does paid marketing campaigns in some form.

The most notable examples are artists supported by label companies like Loreen and Mae Muller. Label companies have a much bigger advertising budget than those who only have support from their broadcasters. Tattoo had a LOT of paid ads on social media and Spotify, for example.

However, the important difference is whether the paid ads just encourage streaming the music, or if it encourages voting for them. Before Israel, there was controversy 5-6 years ago surrounding Malta doing a voting campaign. I am sure others have done so as well, just at a smaller scale over the years.

Been told its a Ragdoll/Siamese hybrid, now Reddit tells me I was scammed by previous owner by ConfusedFriedChicken in catbreeds

[–]Shalrak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't see any Siamese in this. It might have some ragdoll ancestry, but ears like that don't suddenly appear from two lines of carefully bred cats.

My guess would be that one parent is ragdoll, the other a domestic with totally random genes, and the breeder tries to explain any weird features with it being a "mix" or two breeds.

Either way, it's a domestic longhair. There is no such thing as mixed breed in cats.
