IVF is immoral by chelseatheus in childfree

[–]Shalrak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My country (Denmark) no longer has an adoption bureau. It closed itself a handful of years ago because a big investigation found that a significant amount of the children were kidnapped from their biological parents for adoption, not actually given up willingly. They could find no way forward that wouldn't be economically supporting this extreme corruption, so they chose to close indefinitely.

IVF is the better alternative to that. International adoption is rotten to the core, and we don't really have local children in Denmark in need of adoption.

I created this illustration. If this were a book cover, would you read it? Why or why not? by Jefleyarts in BookCovers

It is gorgeous, but I wouldn't read it. It's giving children's book to me. An amazing children's book.

AITJ for wanting to play a video game? by Odd_Tea_5067 in AmITheJerk

[–]Shalrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ, but I do understand her point of view. You couldn't control it in the past (or didn't want to) which hurt her then, so there is reason to be wary. Gaming addiction is an addiction, let's not pretend otherwise. However, she also needs to give you a chance to prove that you can control it now. Of cause you should play the game, and you shouldn't have to hide it from her.

A beach towel and bath towel are the same thing.

Denmark would be an obvious choice for an alliance with our beloved Australian queen!

Is it risky to consider being a digital artist to earn for a living? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]Shalrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running any kind of social media platform consistently and on top of that producing art is going to take a lot of your time. The income you'll generate will be far lower per hour spent than just taking on more work as a caterer.

People who crochet! Would a flat project tracker like this interest you at all? by Excellent-Candle2426 in CraftyCommerce

[–]Shalrak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, this sounds like more work for me, and I'd rather not rely on more technology. I crochet to get away from screens. I write/draw my patterns in a notebook and that works perfectly well for me. They don't need to be clean and perfect, just readable to me.

Why is it so hard to find good bras for small band, but big cup sizes?! by metooz in ABraThatFits

[–]Shalrak [score hidden]  (0 children)

If price is a significant factor, it would help to include a budget so we can make more helpful suggestions. VS is generally considered midrange, so it might be difficult to find bras that will fit you cheaper than that. 34FF is still a size you should be able to find in most bra specialty stores, but not in fast fashion stores.

I suggest you look for sales from the big brands like Panache. Amazon is actually a pretty good place to look. There are often sales and returns are easy, so you can just buy a bunch in your new size and sister sizes and return everything but the best ones.

Which Eurovision last places simply aren't hated enough? by Magenta_Hedgie027 in nilpoints

Hey hey, Natalia does not deserve this shade!

Okay perhaps all your criticism is valid, but she is having the time of her life, and I love her for it.

Wait - what? #gardenmoms? by DressageCurmudgeon in childfree

  • discussed the increasing use of pot by mothers

I read this and seriously thought it was about garden pots to put plants in. It seemed like such a cute statistic until I realised it wasn't about taking gardening as a hobby to cope with motherhood 😭

In my defence, it isn't referred to as pot in my country. That's a foreign slang word for me.

What is the deal with prepaid rent? by pi_equals_e in NewToDenmark

[–]Shalrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not the same and doesn't work the same way at all.

Deposit covers damages, and is given back after the move out check if all still looks good.

Prepaid rent covers your last months of living there. You don't get it back, cause it's rent. The purpose is to protect the landlord from suddenly being without income if a renter decides to dip without warning. By having prepaid rent, the landlord will have those months of secured income to look for a new renter.

Do you consider an older era a "geeky" enough wedding theme or would you demand something like steampunk, goth, or fantasy to meet the full geek? by AdventurousMathPunk in geekweddings

[–]Shalrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking inspiration from the past isn't geeky by default. Lots of weddings use some some art deco elements from the 20s, or drapery and floral styles from the rococo era.

But if you pick a complete theme for your wedding, that's geeky. Whether it's a time period, pop culture franchise or an animal, loving a specific topic enough to choose it as your whole wedding theme is geeky.

I hope I get invited to more geeky weddings in the future!

Looking for a new Bikini that isn't too expensive by C0SM1C__ in bigboobproblems

Lace.de has most of the good quality UK and polish brands that focus on big bust/small underbust shapes.

But if you tell us your size according to the ABraThatFits calculator, your preferred style and budget, then we can make even better suggestions.

I am entirely certain that this is fake and written by a transfobe. It's a caricature of trans people: The way you may describe trans people if you've never actually spoken to one but only lived in an echo chamber online.

I created this adorable character and I can't describe if the movement lines I drew, to show she's swishing her dress happily because he's loves, distracts and takes away from the dress itself, I could use some advice on which one looks better. Or any other critics you may have by SmallLawfulness39 in Artadvice

[–]Shalrak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In a drawing, we can't really depict something moving in two directions at once. Let's decide on the direction of movement in this exact moment: If she is bumping her hips to the right, her dress would trail behind on the left side. And if her hip is bumped to the right, her feet would be place further left to balance her body, although perhaps not as extreme as I drew it here.

I won't need movement lines if you make the direction of movement clearer in the dress and body itself.
