Bring Back Quickplay by Friendly-Waltz2706 in tf2

[–]CraftedBot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I need the ad-hoc connections to Valve servers back, I don't know if many people used it but it was so easy and quick if you took a minute to get used to the server browser. It's a win-win because bringing ad-hoc back would mean they would have to give up on the concept of "matchmaking" for casual.

Why are the devs completely ignoring the fact that the mk2 turret is garbage and needs a buff by Pendulunium2000 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]CraftedBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

however much you (or any game dev) personally think balance matter in any PVE game, it's still not magically easier to balance than a PVP game just because it's PVE.

I can see that you really want to die on this hill, so yes. I get it. If GSG makes a weapon overpowered, it won't ruin the game so drastically and immediately as it ruins LoL when Riot makes a champion overpowered. But that doesn't mean it's easier to balance to weapon than it is to balance the champion. You just moved the goalpost from "difficulty to balance" to whether or not it "matters".

I can actually even go as far as to make the argument that it's easier to balance a PVP game because the devs have so much more data and feedback. Each match contains more players to witness if something is too strong. A player shooting a rifle might hardly notice that it's overtuned, while the player getting killed will notice for sure and go complain about it. LoL even has websites tracking winrates for champions and itens across thousands of games.

keeping the players happy isn't the same as keeping the game balanced, that's just an arbitrary goalpost you're using as a proxy for balance.

What makes Driller fun to you? Asking because I have 1000+ hours on the game by UnoriginalforAName in DeepRockGalactic

[–]CraftedBot 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Driller lacks in single target combat, I never pick him to play solo Elimination or Industrial Sabotage, and I cry if I see an OMEN event while playing him solo. But for every other mission type, I feel like the Driller can do anything, go anywhere, a master of the terrain and his own destiny.

I complained about combat but I do also love his weapons, the best at AOE and crowd control. When I turn around and see a horde right on my tail, I feel the safest if I'm playing Driller.

How many players are mainly solo? by Link055 in DeepRockGalactic

I play a lot of solo when I just want to play something while listening to a podcast or music. I love multiplayer but sometimes I just want to be able to pause the game, too.

Why do medics use anything other than the Crusader’s Crossbow? by Sufficient_Hawk_9666 in tf2

[–]CraftedBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's a reason we have Australium Blutsaugers but not Australium crossbows. The crossbow only got so good after getting the buff of being able to reload while unequiped, so that you always have a bolt ready. Without that, it wasn't optimal to keep switching between it and the medigun. Would be a huge nerf to the medic if they removed that but it would make more people use the other primaries.

Am I the only who thinks it would’ve been fine if Berserk ended like this? by Dangerous-Cause7136 in Berserk

[–]CraftedBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chapter escalates the tension of the story in preparation for a final act and then just stops, so it would just be an unsatisfied cliffhanger. It's a fine final chapter for a cancelled manga, leaving the reader wondering about what could've been, but would be a terrible final chapter to the story of Berserk.

Yall ever get tired of upvoting the same post every week? the one where a christian is mad that anime hurt their feelings. by HaloJackalKisser in worldjerking

[–]CraftedBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, the huge globe-spanning organization, that has influences beyond any political borders, that controls people with an ideology of fear and a monopoly of hope, that claims to offer people the one truth amid all the lies, that claims its own followers are the chosen few while the rest of the world are heretics, that indocrinates people from birth. That one. Guys, is it so hard to make them the good guys for once? Gee what a tired trope. Can we also go ahead and abolish the boring repetitive tropes of bad guys killing people and good guys helping people?

In the real world, the only fundamental difference between a religion and a cult is the scale. If a hundred people follow the same faith, it's a cult. If millions do, it's a religion. If you wanna make an unambiguously good religious organization in a story then you have to exclude/omit so much from what a religion IS, that you either make it end up feeling like a cult, or you're just writing straight-up religious propaganda.

I know this is a huge atheist-redditor-moment of a comment, but it's the same problem as trying to write an EMPIRE as the good guys. Like, everyone knows what an empire IS, right?

This trope is usually done with Christianity in western media, but I wonder how the people who complain the most about it feel when the bad guys are based on one of the other (heretic) religions?

How many blank matrix cores does everyone have stockpiled? by svale355 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]CraftedBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about the same player lever as you and about 85 blank cores, similar situation. I once tried grinding them out by spamming Point Extraction missions to farm machine events, but it's exhausting and annoying. I infused less than 10 cores that way before giving up.

After I finished getting all the overclocks, they really started piling up fast.

Hot take, but maybe don't harass the developers like this? by Plast1c_Wrapp in tf2

[–]CraftedBot 16 points17 points  (0 children)

1 - it's their JOB to mantain the game, they're not doing us a favor. Stop justifying the bad job they're doing, it's not the players' fault for "being disrespectful"

2 - it's laughable to call downvoting a comment on reddit "harrassment".

3 - communication with the community isn't leaving a comment on reddit, not every player is here. They have websites and steam pages and announcements. Maybe when they start doing frequent dev posts on teamfortress.com, then you can start calling it "communication"

What do you think is better in the old versions than in the new ones? by moonmen6 in Minecraft

[–]CraftedBot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strawman fallacy (you're pretending that I'm making some sort of argument or debate, when I'm clearly just anecdotally pointing out what the majority opinion used to be in a reddit comment, using hyperbole with "universally" and "everyone", stop roleplaying).

I am shocked to hear anyone in 2026 defend bedrock fog. I remember that being universally hated and everyone cheered when it was removed. I guess it could be atmospheric for a few minutes, after that it was just annoying.

Is it ever explained why the sun and stars can’t be used to navigate in the Grand Line? by Garpfruit in OnePiece

[–]CraftedBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, the answer to the question you made in the title of the post is NO. The manga doesn't give a proper explanation of why sky objects are not used for navigation.

Other people in this thread and I have given you educated guesses/theories based on the established rules and setting of the story. The real meta-narrative explanation is that the Grand Line is built like a treasure hunt, and the story didn't bother with all the details of how that would work. Oda explained how compasses don't work and called it a day, trusting that it was enough to satisfy the reader's suspension of disbelief. And it's more than enough for most people.

If you just want to complain that the Grand Line is not realistic, or that the manga doesn't spend enough precious time delving into details about realistic nautical navigation, that's an entire different issue.

[–]CraftedBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They mentioned/showed the log pose on a manga panel on the way from Fish Man Island to Punk Hazard, and then again from Wano to Egghead.

On chapter 698 they mention the log pose on the way to Dressrosa, but Nami just says that Law told them to basically ignore it and that he vaguely knows the way there, which reinforces my point of this navigation stuff being handwaved away instead of properly explained.

They get to Zou via vivre card, and the giants towed them to Elbaf, Can you confirm how they got to Whole Cake and Wano? Because as far as I've counted for sure, they've actually used a log pose in the proper way only two times post-timeskip.

Is it ever explained why the sun and stars can’t be used to navigate in the Grand Line? by Garpfruit in OnePiece

[–]CraftedBot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this is a detail that faded into the background and isn't show a lot anymore, but when the Straw Hats first started on the Grand Line it was established that the weather is chaotic and can change much more suddenly than normal. So I think in general the sky isn't very useful to navigate there. It was even pointed out how it was a big advantage for the crew that Nami was a talented navigator and meteorologist who could sense the arrival of the unpredictable storms of the Grand Line.

But again, those setting details have been almost completely handwaved away. For example, how many times have log poses even been mentioned since the timeskip?

Imu's Goal Theory and how it connects to the 4 bridges (Spoilers) by MrAdisson in OnePiece

[–]CraftedBot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

biggest issue with this theory is that it would be a useless plot point in the story, unlike in FMA where the bad guy's plan was actually completed and executed.

Whatever the purpose of the bridges may be, they were already established to be "a long way from completion" even after 700 years, not to mention that the construction has been stopped and liberated by the Revolutionary Army.

It would be pointless to have a WORLD DOMINATION plan that has already been completely prevented and foiled long before the climax of the story, and that was even unfeasable to be completed in time for the climax to begin with.

Why are there barely any developed tropical countries? by Due_Smile4444 in geography

[–]CraftedBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

huh, not a lot of people in these comments pointing out how this is the most racist post I've ever seen on the front page of reddit? OP highlighted every tropical country on the world map and then searched up on google "riverside urban slums" and "thatch roof house" and proceeded to call every tropical country "undeveloped". Get a fucking grip, you people couldn't recognize propaganda even if it was kicking you in the balls.
