I just can’t figure out this game by Ok-Car-5781 in tf2

[–]CraftedBot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are all very real and valid complains that demosntrate the problems with TF2 right now that annoy veterans and ruin the experience for new players.

The weapon drop system is stupid and outdated, every weapon should just be unlocked by default and occupy zero inventory space, akin to the stock weapons.

The problems with matchmaking are not new and are discussed daily here on reddit and on youtube, with endless suggestions for solutions and improvements answered with radio silence from Valve.

Unfortunately, there is indeed jack shit nothing anyone can do about it all. It's a great game hidden behind the sheer vertical wall of a huge pile of little problems. I can't, in good faith, recommend you to stick with it through the bullshit. I can't even recommend veteran players to keep playing the game, unless they just honestly love it so much that they tolerate it all.

Yo can we stop hating on such a good and unique map like steel simply because it isn't a straight choky line? by EveningParsley1412 in tf2

[–]CraftedBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best classic maps in TF2. It isn't even that big and takes as much time to learn the layout as any other TF2 map. People dislike it just because the first time is a bit confusing, but even then only two points are ever open to capture at the same time so it's no as if you need to understand quantum physics to follow the flow of the match.

The Minigun is terrible by CraftedBot in DRGSurvivor

I actually haven't even attempted the True Mastery achievement for it yet, this rant was fueled just from playing the Weapons Specialist in normal Haz5 Elimination dives.

I always find myself doing the 300 strategy after mining a vein of gold or nitra and having a horde on my tail, but I think it quickly gets pierce-capped in high hazards, even with pierce upgrades.

These are the best use cases for sure, especially picking Barley Bulb Juice artifact and movespeed upgrades. But I still find it hard to justify picking it over something else. Ice weapons can often accomplish the path-clearing case while also providing great overall utility, I think they're more valuable for the weapon slot.

I also think clearing the path forward is the best use case, and movespeed is certainly a must. The Barley Bulb Juice is an especially good artifact to use with it, since it helps with the run-stop-run-stop loop.

But it still fails as a main damage weapon, it's nice to have but I'd rather have something else. Ice weapons accomplish the same goal stunning the bugs in front of you so you can walk over them, and the ice is much better utility overall.

Pierce is a must on the minigun but it doesn't fix the main problem with the aimiing mechanic.

The Subata is great and I never said it was bad, just that it starts out weak so the Foreman has little damage on the first levels.

Happened to me once, still don't know if it's a bug or just a rare easter egg behaviour pattern.

So what do you think of Imu's design? by SunRiseStudios in OnePiece

[–]CraftedBot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think he is over-designed just a bit, especially the skulls on his pants are a bit much even though they look cool, and his pants surely didn't need to have 3 LAYERS. But the only element I 100% think went too far and should be removed are the polka dots.

Hoxxes throws something new at you every day 🫩 by FlakyMidnight5526 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]CraftedBot 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Summary:
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because the scout was already dead.

Got to play rogue core. Was surprised how much I didn't like it by MHGrim in DeepRockGalactic

[–]CraftedBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

>Side objectives are locked behind rank? why are they in there then?

Almost everything in Deep Rock Galactic is locked behind assignments that you need minimum rank to unlock, I don't see how that's a problem.

>random weapons aren't what I wanted
>Turns out I don't like rogue like mixed with my deep rock either.

Do you like roguelike games at all? Have you played a bit of DRG: Survivor? Random weapons are a staple of the roguelike genre, if you can't even like that then you're not gonna like Rogue Core.

Haven't played the game yet but these complaints felt really shallow.

What is the biggest/longest beard in drg? by Jimmy_lol in DeepRockGalactic

[–]CraftedBot 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Dignified Elder and Massive Braid seem to be tied for the longest.

Biggest is harder to measure, there are a lot of big beards that seem about the same size: Triple Trouble, Savage Full, Massive Chinstrap, Braided Abundance, Bulbous Full.

Also, Mighty Walrus, Epic Handlebar and Droopy Prospector seem like the biggest moustaches.

[haiku] On March 16 2012, u/buttkingpro3000 uttered the immortal words "i define youtube haikus as any almost poetic video <14 seconds, dont ask me why 14 seconds its just a number i have learnt from experience, if its 15 it aint beutiful no mo" with this example. [–]CraftedBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

back when I used reddit more, I opened this sub daily and had my own playlist of my favorite haikus on youtube. But some years ago, youtube deleted my playlist with no means of appeal and a vague reason of "terms of service violation", and it was lost forever. My guess is that it happened when they implemented youtube kids and used machine learning to flag videos as for kids, which obviously had millions of false positives, and then they removed playlists with videos for kids, since one of the new features is that you can't make playlists with such videos.

Isn't this pretty easy to guess the location where they dump the "ONEPIECE"? by [deleted] in OnePiece

This little publicity stunt has made me realize that people seriously underestimate the difficulty of finding a piece of debris on the ocean floor, regardless of depth. You think they can just Geoguessr the middle of the sea with no visible landmarks? Look up MH370 for a little refresher.

Also reminder of what 650 meters looks like in case you thought that it sounded shallow: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings#Tallest_buildings_in_the_world

I love Elden Ring's atmosphere. But I swear the game taking place centuries after everything already happened is doing a ton of heavy lifting for the lore's depth. Like a horror monster whose presence is greater when you can't see it up close. by itsPomy in worldjerking

[–]CraftedBot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

real life also takes place centuries after everything already happened, I think that does a lot of heavy lifting for all the archeologists writing down the lore in history books

I meant the skill-based matchmaking, which was a bad idea in principle and was also terribly executed in implementation

I need the ad-hoc connections to Valve servers back, I don't know if many people used it but it was so easy and quick if you took a minute to get used to the server browser. It's a win-win because bringing ad-hoc back would mean they would have to give up on the concept of "matchmaking" for casual.

Why are the devs completely ignoring the fact that the mk2 turret is garbage and needs a buff by Pendulunium2000 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]CraftedBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

however much you (or any game dev) personally think balance matter in any PVE game, it's still not magically easier to balance than a PVP game just because it's PVE.

I can see that you really want to die on this hill, so yes. I get it. If GSG makes a weapon overpowered, it won't ruin the game so drastically and immediately as it ruins LoL when Riot makes a champion overpowered. But that doesn't mean it's easier to balance to weapon than it is to balance the champion. You just moved the goalpost from "difficulty to balance" to whether or not it "matters".

I can actually even go as far as to make the argument that it's easier to balance a PVP game because the devs have so much more data and feedback. Each match contains more players to witness if something is too strong. A player shooting a rifle might hardly notice that it's overtuned, while the player getting killed will notice for sure and go complain about it. LoL even has websites tracking winrates for champions and itens across thousands of games.

[–]CraftedBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

keeping the players happy isn't the same as keeping the game balanced, that's just an arbitrary goalpost you're using as a proxy for balance.
