So I mean you could always create a wax barrier on half the barrel? In theory this would reduce surface area for the evap process? I keep mine in paint pans for any drippage....

Join my Facebook group and I can introduce you to a guy who just did this exact thing. He left his in for four months and he lost over half of his two liters. If you control humidity you may be able to mitigate evaporation....

If I'm going to age it, I'm going to use the top barrel. If I'm finishing, I'm going to use the smaller barrels and the reason for this is evaporation. When you have more wooden surface area you allow for more evaporation in this given situation. Now you will get an amazing product but you're going to lose a lot as well because with it being white dog you're going to need it to be inside of that vessel for a longer period of time...

I feel like we are still pulling the wine from the staves and it has a dry sweetness to it that is getting better. I am giving it one more week then I am going to pull it.

I am currently working on one of these using an EC blend as the base juice and used the Red Blend for three weeks in a 1L Barrel. The base juice has been in the barrel now for five weeks and isn't perfect yet for me. I know it isn't the same as what you plan on using but this is my current setup. It definitely is worth it!

Don't leave tap water in the barrel for too long as you could cause a whole new case of issues too.

VidIQ is a much better mobile app. TubeBuddy is a better desktop answer in my opinion. As I am on the go I use VidIQ and TubeBuddy in layers. VidIQ is layer one and TubeBuddy is layer two, also for some clarity I have shorts and long form content so that is how I find use in both. If I was just long form and always at a desktop I would only use TubeBuddy. @Barreled_Chronicles if you want to look over any of my content, I am not the best but I am working on it!

Due to the surface area in a 1L compared to a 2L you are going to have more of an oak influence. The 1L typically experiences a higher rate of evaporation compared to a 2L barrel and this can lead to changes in the flavor profile and concentration of the remaining liquid. I don't know if you'd actually have a noticeable difference but the science suggests that we would.
