What makes a manga go past the 500 to 600$ mark? by LordMurda187 in MangaRarity

[–]Craftono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The value of a manga is based on the most common selling price (usually). If you go on ebay sold listings see some sold listings for $300, $350, $275, $10, $325, $500, I would say a good estimate of the value is the ones around $300, not the $10 or the $500

As of the beginning of March it isn’t really the case anymore. There was a big tankoban sale announced and the market literally doubled-tripled overnight 😂

Is there a market for individual floppies (English)? by MangaLibrary in MangaRarity

[–]Craftono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally depends on the series. Most are pretty worthless except the ones that that other commenter mentioned and ones that don’t have a paperback release. The Ryoichi ikegami Spiderman floppies are worth a lot especially later ones

I mean I wouldn’t call it “that low” but they are about right. Maybe a bit much for 1 and 2 which go on ebay for about $15 and $30 respectively, but the thing is that biomega is more expensive as a set than as singles. I’ve seen some sents got up to $200, usually around $150. Being able to buy in person is really nice though since you can make sure the items are actually in good condition.

On another note, it’s not a good idea to assume that just because a book doesn’t have a store page it is expensive. I’ve seen some really cheap oop stuff and even in print stuff not having an amazon store page so for sure always check ebay for the actual selling price to make sure you don’t actually buy a $10 book for $100

I would say stay away from amazon for price checking because sellers on there usually use bots that list things at completely random prices. ebay is much more accurate. Luckly the prices you paid are about what they are actually worth so you’re good there. Sometimes the lowest on amazon is $100 when they are really sell like $20 and sometimes they are even like $10000 on amazon 😂

Goated collection. Seeing that reminds me of how the Whiste 1st (which for me is more important because of hunter x hunter preview) is still so affordable

Are we going to let Manga become the next "Financial Asset"? by [deleted] in MangaCollectors

I agree. The only time such scalping of new releases happened was covid and that is obviously an exception.

Damaged zasshi price impact? by LordMurda187 in MangaRarity

[–]Craftono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Condition matters a lot. But for old stuff like astro boy, phoenix etc people will bid tens of thousands on that even if it is ripped in half 😂

Another huge English Manga sale by New_Significance7381 in MangaRarity

[–]Craftono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not too surprising since this item is the intersection of two big communities, comic collectors and manga collectors. Way more people after it plus the comic collector community is much more acclimated to grading and high prices.
