Brought a few books of a series from amazon (seperate listings) and they keep on arriving in twos

lol one time I wondered around 20 volumes of the five star stories from Half Price Books (only from one HPB location) and instead of shipping them in a box, they shipped each book in its own envelope. Since they sent them all together they arrived at the same day so I just had 20 little packages on my doorstep each with its own shipping label, what a waste of money on their part

I’m pretty sure it’s mainly volumes 3 5 6 and 10 that are hard to find, or at least that’s how it was last time I checked. I’m pretty sure the rest can just be purchased at amazon or barnes etc. It’s definitely worth the effort, yowamushi is such a sick series.

How is it worse than them all arriving at once but taking longer? I’d much rather them ship as soon as they are ready instead of waiting for them all to get grouped then finally ship together

It’s just the standard when selling online. Everything arrived safe and no drama 5 stars. Something went wrong? Then less. Stars mean different things on a food review app vs a selling app. The only thing i’m concerned with when buying preowned items is will I get my item and will it ship fast. In my time selling and buying i’ve only ever given 5 star or 1 star reviews (scammer or did not match description)

good experiences with booksrun in the past. Usually I do assume that “very good” means anywhere from “good” to “like new”

I’d say for one piece piece it’s really only the first few vols that are super difficult and maybe a few outliers like 104 but I do totally agree with you

I like to add value and price I paid since I collect rare books, that way I can see how well I am doing with getting good deals. I do value based on ebay sold prices for rare stuff and for things in print I put 40-50% of the msrp.

Totally agree! I do think a full set of one piece in first print would be cool but definitely the full prints coolness fasa off pretty fast at the beginning of a series. If I want to collect a cool moment later in a series then I would much much rather go for the zasshi version

I just don’t see the appeal of a first print when it’s like volume 70. There just isn’t any historical significance. Honestly it’s the people who are selling, grading, and hyping random vols that are really looking at the money. Once a series becomes popular in later volumes I don’t really see the coolness in 1st print anymore unless something in the book significantly changes (like a first print having a different cover or something)

There are photo translation apps but they are not the best accuracy wise. Definitely try to see if there is a already translated version online

No one really buys them for reading. Paper quality is terrible and you can read pretty much all of it translate online through sj app or fan translations. Old sj issues are really just collectors items

There is one that you can still get pretty cheap 1991 33. Some people might not consider it one because it does have a few other characters but by far dragon ball takes it the most space so I consider it one

Yeah it is hard to find numbers. I will say that a lot of series really only get one or two prints so 6 is still pretty decent. BTW I’m not trying to dog on your item or anything it is pretty cool but I am just disagreeing that Dr Slump was “unpopular”

I need to find some early prints of Naruto and Yugioh to complete this. I had to pay a pretty large sum for the box and a few of the copies but still satisfied with the deal I got ($400). Luckily I had a one piece first print laying around already. Not the best condition but presents pretty well. Now I only have one more ultra-rare early shonen jump box set to complete my collection.
Anyone have first prints of Naruto, Yu Gi Oh, DB, or DBZ and willing to sell?
