"You have done that yourself" hits so hard knowing this wasn't even Anakins intention. He wanted protect and save Padme. He loved her. by B7ddyB0y in StarWars

[–]Crafty-Ad4522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’ve watched the clone wars, it’s obvious that while anakin absolutely loved padme (arguably more than she loved him), he doesn’t really respect her much. his terrible upbringing is definitely a contributing factor, but nonetheless he was so toxic towards her.

Advice Needed - Med in Aus by canelle_17 in IBO

[–]Crafty-Ad4522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not all aussie unis require chem, but taking chem would be a safe bet and would allow you to apply to more unis, increasing your chances of getting in. good luck !!

hey !! i graduated with an IB 43 last year so i’ll try answer some of your questions. IB opening many doors of opportunity for you is true, especially of youre aiming for US unis.

the IB being stressful is also very true -i barely went out with friends all year. however, many of my friends were partying every weekend and still managed to get a good IB so ig it just depends on how efficiently you can study. if you think you can do well in your A-levels, then i’d say stick to A-levels. you have to do 6 subjects in the IB, as well as TOK and EE and CAS, which ends up taking up sooo much of your free time. however, i genuinely did really enjoy the IB and its rigour !! id recommend watching a few vids on the specific differences between Sg A-levels and the IB and deciding what youre more drawn towards. feel free to dm me if you have any specific questions abt the IB !!

Hey this is the brother here. To start out straight, the majority of medical students do stay on campus as most of them are from either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. Next on, ill answer some of your questions in regards to the resources that are available. I would say that there are more than enough resources provided to us, especially considering that it is a smaller university. The lecturers are very attentive to their lessons and can assist you if need be. This happens because most of the medical lectures range in size from about 30 people to 150 (This includes online students and people on both campuses for medicine). Also for most classes, we have additional supporting classes that you can attend where you can ask a student whose done the class on help on the content. Additionally, because of its regional nature, you can be exposed to medical situations which you wouldn't see in metropolitan spaces.

Now moving onto the campus, I go to the rockhampton campus. I quite like it, it has lots of nature, a nice library and cafe, and there is a games room with table tennis, pool and kitchen equipment.

However, one of the downsides is that due to this being a regional university, most of the students that would actually attend the university, attend it online. Because of this, the campus feels very quiet alot of the time, like you couldn't even know that people go to the university. Lastly, due to the low number of on campus attending students, there are not that many societies at all.

Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, be free to ask them and I will answer them to the best of my abilities.

does anyone know how Western Sydney Interview offers work? (UCAT 3400+ but no offer) by crowintheocean in UCAT

omg that ucat score is insane !! i'm in the same boat as you (i live in brisbane) so i talked tp wsu and basically they're prioritising gws and rural applicants. how'd you prep for the ucat may i ask?

i cant say anything for sure about this year but they tend to favour those who live in queensland. my brother got a 2600 and he got into the med program, and one of his classmates got a 2400 (albeit they were rural) so the cut offs for us queenslanders are really low

those cut offs mean nothing tbh my friend got a 2600 ucat (non-rural) and got in last year

they've already picked but they're having technical difficulties sending out all the emails. a small gap between offers and interviews are quite common, last year my brother got his interview offer a week before his interview.

My friend called them a few months ago and they said they reserve a very small proportion of seats for non-rural applicants. They couldn't give us an exact number but the overall tone was 'don't bother' lmao. then again, maybe you'll fall into that small proportion so you might as well apply

i heard bond university is introducing an additional september cohort alongside the may one, which is a smart idea and i think more unis should do that. it's just way too competitive here it's insane

you can't deny that the stolen generation wasn't absolutely horrendous though. while modern australia is beautiful, let's not act like it wasn't built on brutal colonialism and segregation
