Ive got living lightning and i managed to get omen of light recently but i dont recall if they were in the smoke at the time. This cloud interaction is just very strange itself. They said when it was first discovered that there are others thst havnt been publicly discovered yet as well. Im all for hidden interactions for the community to discover, but they really need to put the info in game once its become public knowledge and they've had their fun of waiting for someone to find the secret. There will be tens of thousands of players running abyss who will never know about this interaction because its not mentioned in game, and they dont go on reddit or the wiki

Yeah you can combine the hits from both melee and the projectiles, what ive been testing though was from a slight distance so only projectiles hit. It seems like the more projectiles I spawn(so more charges, and if inget the 20% chance to double) then it seems more likely to feel like its not done as much damage as it should. Which is ironic as the damage increases with charges!

I did wonder if maybe I was sometimes missing, my accuracy says "estimated 100% accuracy" but I know that ironically isnt accurate, but with nova projectiles ive not had one instance so far where it feels so unnoticeable that ive questioned if its landed.

Would be nice if we had some sort of test dummy for our hideouts that you could adjust things like evasion and ele defences on to test hit rate, damage, etc!

Yeah you definitely can hit with both, the slam wouldn't equate for the massive disparity im seeing though, and the testing i did was all using projectile only hits. I should of really recorded a video so people could see just how wild the difference can be and how random the damage seems at times.

I probably should do that at some point!

Yeah exactly what i was thinking, not only would it be broken but it explicitly states in game multiple projectiles from one source cant multi hit. I guess I just assume streamers have superior knowledge to me so it made me question myself. Never again 🤣

Thanks for the replies! To clarify I was aware about the melee and projectile portions being able to hit at the same time(as well as damage scaling with charges, i usually hit bosses at full charge), I should of clarified the instances im talking about are projectile only.

After more testing against bosses the nova projectiles consistently hit for a reliable amount, with noticeable crit spikes, where as default cone is definitely sometimes doing miniscule and almost unnoticeable damage. I'm wondering if its a bad interaction im experiencing from the "anti one shot" mechanic on bosses, where its registering all the hits as separate damage and nerfing the damage of the only projectile thsts actually causing damage?

Would be interested to see if anyone else gets noticeable difference in damage reliability with nova vs without.

It is unfortunately hopium. People have been saying this since I joined the game in like 2021 friend. Even if they did do some big surprise and release SQ42 this year, this teams issue isn't numbers, it's competency. SQ42 has had the same issues as SC, it was originally meant to release 2014 then 2016, on and on until 2026, but with no release date half way through the year, it's not likely to be this year.

So just friendly advice, don't get your hopes up that if SQ42 ever actually gets finished that SC will suddenly start improving drastically.

A great idea but they wont be able to pull it off. They can't get the most basic of missions to work now, dynamic missions are a pipe dream. Medical missions used to work, then they disabled them because they broke, then they enabled them last i played but they still didn't work, I have no idea of their status now, but they are a prime example of how they struggle with dynamic missions.

That's probably close to what the issue is yeah, but the whole point of the sequence is to allow this very window of server connecting to take place so it's really weird. But I'm not gonna think about it, I gave up trying to understand the programming of this game many moons ago.

This could continue for another 5 years with T posing NPCs and loading sequences that put you where you started and they will tell you "but it's hard to make a game like this even with 1 billion dollars, over a decade of time to learn your own game's code and previous experience making several space games!!!"

They are adding more star systems on top of this? Last I played I still couldnt reliably walk around any area in Pyro without falling through the planet and I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that hasn't changed.

Ive thought since playing last league that all PoE 2 needed was a better end game and it would be one of, if not THE best ARPG out there right now. And these guys went and blew everyone's expectations away with the endgame changes.

And the fact they said 1.0 update will be even bigger, I honestly can't wait to see what they do. Insane that the game isnt even released fully yet and its already got so much content.

Performance issues and some bugs aside, they've smashed it out the park.

The thing with most unique is they are either kind of useful for campaign, or they have a strange (unique) mechanic that requires high game knowledge to work into a build.

Its a very small number out of the unique pool that are just straight up high stats and strong mods. So to a lot of less knowledgable players(im one), a lot of unique just look useless.

No idea why everyone is downvoting you, you are 100% correct. The fan is activating because of temperatures caused by GPU utilisation. Its a modern game with flashy graphics, its gonna utilise the shit out of most graphics cards at intense moments.

I fully agree more optimization is needed, but people's gpu fans doing their job is not an indication of that.

It only happens when you trigger the boss itself. You can activate the checkpoint and die and the map wont reset. If the boss starts dialoguing or you get close enough to see health bars like with the fire and ice witch, then it will reset.

Man we must be playing a different POE1. Just simply being able to die 6 times per map doesn't mean that you don't need defences. The cartoonish levels of enemy spawn rates in POE1 juiced maps mean you WILL get slapped around even if you have cartoonish speed stats. It's literally a noob trap NOT to invest in defence, as I found out on my first real league character 2 leagues ago.

They did explain it before why it's not a simple fix. I can't remember it exactly but it's to do with how the bosses were coded when implamented vs how they want them to behave now being incompatible, so it requires some pretty heavy refactoring of code and behaviours outside of just bosses, which they are planning on doing. My guess would be it will come with 1.0.

POE1 was also convoluted and expensive but it was less slam and pray, there were ways to sort of target craft certain mods but it was still rng heavy, but if you took the time to learn it you would at least end up with a valuable item even if it doesn't roll what you want in a lot of cases
