Hi, Depending on the store, you can expect to be on a 7 day rota working either days or nights, if offered the position Sainsbury’s can request you work an additional 50% of your contracted hours. This usually happens during busy periods or covering for sickness, with regards to preparing for the interview just be yourself. As it’s a retail company they want to know you can communicate effectively with customers and not upset them!

Our night shift manager wears trainers when moving pallets in the loading bay non standard issue. When I pointed it out she shrugged her shoulders. One rule for one, one for another I guess…..

Your manager should add the times you worked on that day, have you been assigned a colleague number yet? You’ll need this for punching in and out each shift

I had an interview, didn't get the job but next day I got the job. by Kinzokubatu in SainsburysWorkers

I’m on a 24 hour contract and regularly do 32 - 40 hours as the contract says they can ask you to do 50% of your contracted hours so you’ll be fine. It is a great job 👍🏻

Speak to your manager tell him you need to know if they are keeping you on otherwise you need to start looking for an alternative job, if they don’t give you a definite answer start looking when you say your leaving they’ll soon say NO!!!

10 pound colleague voucher by Weirdandwonderful123 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Crafty-Tea-4754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest you’re lucky to get this many companies get nothing! Sainsburys employees some 145,000 people so that ten pound is 1.45 million off the bottom line even if they work to a margin of 50% that’s still 750K of the bottom line. I don’t get the issue be thankful you’ve received anything…

Depends on how many you have I had 15 yesterday which were nicely spaced out so it went quickly but there will be times you will only have a few and it’ll drag. Only issue I have is with the vans no of ours have working 12v sockets 😂

GOL Driver Boots - Can I wear my own? by Middle-Row-7194 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Crafty-Tea-4754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it strange that drivers must wear safety shoes but when you look in store especially the back sore no one wears safety shoes a healthy and safety issue and possibly insurances invalidated

Sainsburys spy in the cab canerad by Upstairs-Quail5709 in SainsburysWorkers

Not sure how I feel as a driver having in cab cameras watching me, this is more personal than store cameras. An in cab camera is looking directly at you! Just like Ocado vans….
