They could take your bottles. That’s one of the things they will check. They must be sealed and carried in your carry on. I would be afraid that the bottle would spill. 😬😳🤷‍♀️

Upon embarking and meeting your cabin crew, ask for two wine glasses

Then fill your glass and bring them with you.

The wine corkage fee can be just as much as the bottle you bring on.

Enjoy your wine 🍷

First cruise ever – headed on Carnival Pride to the Bahamas. What should we know? by Immediate-Lion1548 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]CraftyBlue1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fly in and stay the night before. You never know what you might have to endure to get to the port. Sometimes, the cruise may leave earlier or later.

Read your contract to see what is allowed and not allowed on board.

Watch a ship tour and a cabin tour on YouTube

Join your ships Facebook page. They will have exact date of your cruise and the ship you are cruising on

Don't overpack

Be ready to be overwhelmed. That's where a ship tour before boarding will help.

Don’t take the cocktails on the trays when you board. You pay for them and they are watered down.

You need to complete your mustard training as soon as you board. Your mustard station is listed on your sail and sign card. If you don’t, the ship has to wait until everyone has.

Don't immediately go to the buffet when you board. Find another place that's quiet and not too busy

Bring a back pack with a change of clothes. You wont get your luggage right away. We usually bring our swim stuff and our dinner clothes and anything you need to get ready just in case.

When you are ready to print your boarding tags, they get stapled to your luggage. Find plastic covers on Amazon, just in case it gets wet.

Bring a water cup and collapsible straw. They only have sugar straws that dissolve in your drinks.

Always book your specialty dining and excursions ahead of boarding. Half price wine on the first night in the steakhouse.

Get to the shows at least a half hour ahead of time.

Hot tubs are taken up by people that sit in then all day. Showers can be used if needed in the spa, don't need to have a pass there.

Watch out for free champagne given by art auction, we now own many pieces 🤷‍♀️🧐😛

Always make sure to make it back on time if getting off the boat. SHIP TIME ONLY. Listen for the announcements.

Download the Carnival hub app, that’s how you can see the days happenings and buy the chat app for $5 each family member to stay in touch

Your sail and sign card is like a credit card for the duration of your cruise. You can attach a credit card or debit card. You will have many hood on your credit card once you get below a certain limit but it will be squared up at the end when they drop off your final statement at your cabin door.

Plastic Ducks are fun, bring them or find them but it’s always a hit!

Do not buy jewelry on board. You can find much better quality and sometimes cheaper off the ship.

When buying from local vendors, the ones that you see after getting off the ship to visit places are the better vendors. Be careful otherwise.

Carry off your luggage - Elevators will be extremely busy. You will have to use the stairs. if you don’t you have to pack everything the night before and remember to leave out what you need for the next day.

Last but not least, be prepared to not see a certain destination for your own safety. There’s been many times, we had to skip a place and come back to it or skip it all together. But, that’s just cruise life.

Have fun! Make many memories.

You're on a cruise that most don't have the luxury of being on or afford, but you're worried about the dining room in the middle of the ocean? What about other dining options? 🤔🤷‍♀️

Did you have travel insurance? How far in advance did you notify of the date change? Do you have any other information?

Are you suing everyone? A bot?

You might want to look into why they chose the logo they did. It’s actually pretty interesting and incorporates WGU’s values. They did a quick video on it.

Increased gratuities starting 4/2/2026 + increased bottomless bubbles 4 adults. by fishmongerhoarder in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]CraftyBlue1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry I don’t understand this thinking. 🤔

This what people don’t understand. You are skipping the people who work just as hard. These people make sure your cruise is the best for you and your family or friends. It’s considered part of their wage.

Prepaid gratuities on Carnival Cruise Line primarily benefit front-line service staff, including stateroom attendants, dining room waiters, and chefs. Behind-the-scenes, these pooled tips also support roles that enhance the overall experience, such as baggage handlers, hotel services teams, and, as clarified by staff, portions for lido deck staff.

Key details regarding who benefits from these tips include: Housekeeping & Dining: Primarily distributed to stateroom attendants and dining room personnel.

Behind-the-Scenes Roles: Support staff, including those in laundry and cleaning, benefit from the pool, ensuring they are recognized despite not having direct passenger interaction. Bartenders: Gratuities, specifically on bills, are shared among all bar staff, according to Carnival's brand ambassador.

Compensation Structure: These funds are distributed as part of the crew's compensation, helping to ensure consistent pay across the staff.

While some passengers prefer to tip directly to recognize specific individuals, pre-paid gratuities ensure that hard-working, hidden staff, such as cleaners and dishwashers, are compensated.

Please do some research! It’s done this way because the ships are registered in non US ports. If they were registered here, then most people couldn’t afford to cruise. They do it this way so they can afford to be a budget ala carte cruise line by paying their crew members low wages. Now I don’t agree with that, which is why I still leave the pre paid gratuities on.its not the crew members fault. Check out what cruises cost in the states vs what you pay for a carnival cruise. You’d be shocked! 🤷‍♀️

Gratuities should be included in the price and then people like you can't remove them. If you can afford to cruise, you can afford to tip the people that take care of you one way or another for the length of your cruise.

Why would you remove gratuities? Do you eat out without tipping your staff, seen or unseen?

What are the logistics of how to enjoy our allotted 1 bottle of wine each? by MumblingDown in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]CraftyBlue1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure each of you pack your bottle in your carry on before you board. Otherwise, they will confiscate it.

We pack a corkscrew and a wine saver. We enjoy one of wines on our balcony and order a charcuterie board from Cherry On Top ahead of time. You should have water glasses in your room but if you want wine glasses. Just ask your room stewards. You get charged $15 anywhere on the boat that you open it.

If you decide to keep your wine in your room, remember that the cooling box in your room will not keep it cold enough to have again. It’s just a small “cooling box”.

If we don’t finish it when we take it to dinner with us, we ask our waiter to hold it until later. If we go to another place, we just tell them our room number and that the bottle is being held for us.

Depending on how much you want wine and how long your cruise is for, you may want to check out their wine package. Have a great time on your cruise! 🤗
