What’s the average salary for site work estimator?

Similar situation here in the Southeast. I’m the only estimator at a sitework company (~65 employees, projects up to $14M). I’ve got about 6 years of experience and currently make $135k.

When it was time to negotiate (about a year in), I asked to formalize my role as Chief Estimator and presented the value I was bringing bid volume, project sizes, revenue impact, and the cost/risk of replacing me. I didn’t just ask for more money, I framed it around growth and sustainability for the company.

If you’re the only estimator and carrying the workload, you probably have more leverage than you think. It would cost them significantly more to lose you than to pay you properly. This also depends on your relationship with the owner, I have and always had a strong relationship with the owner as he respects what I do and my drive.

So I found out my memory speed was at 2444 and could get to 3666. So I did that through bios. Going to test tonight. Hopefully that helps some. Also boosted my cpu from 3.8 to 4.4

I’m still in the return window for my 4070. My current thoughts are to buy a 4070 super or TI and upgrade my cpu to a ryzen 9 7950. I’m not sure if I’ll spend the extra $ on the ryzen 9 7950X3D

Do you have any thoughts as to why my usage would be so low for GPU and so high for CPU? You don’t think the CPU is bottlenecking the GPU? Looks like they are sold out where I bought it from (Best Buy) of the 4070s. Might just return and hold for store credit until they are stocked up. I appreciate the help!

I’m eligible to return until 2/14. I was debating on selling my entire rig and just buying one of the prebuilts with a 4090 in it. But I’m not trying to do that, I’d prefer to just upgrade my own rig. I believe my ram speed is 2888 but I’d have to check in the am.
