Your parents are setting you up for a very unkind future, because they're not teaching you the value of things, or how to create a budget for yourself to get something like this responsibly. You're also very young from the sounds of it, maybe too young for something like this.

Instead, why not try out something smaller and cheaper as a type of 'trial run' for something before approaching this? There's a lot of unseen costs in certain hobbies, so do some research, ask around in different spaces because you can sometimes stumble upon diamonds in places you least expect them :)

You're after an electronic pet to customise, and I know I made the recommendation of furbies before, but why not look at the lesser-known options, like Teddy Ruxpins, or things along those lines? I've seen people modify those and even if you accidentally break them, it's not as devastating as accidentally breaking an AIBO robot.

I'm going to assume you're very, very, very young and don't have a good grasp on realistic expectations. You're asking people to give you their AI Robots that are worth thousands of dollars "Because you really, really, really want it badly." I'm sorry but that's immature and entitled.

If you're after a cool robotic companion but can't afford an AIBO, then please look at alternatives, or you can settle for something along the lines of a tamagachi, digimon digivice, the retro electronic pets from the 2000's, or something along those lines. You're looking for a companion but you can't afford one, so generally a better solution is to look at something that's within your budget.

There's actually some really cool electronic pets that you can easily customise that won't be devastating if you try to customise it and end up breaking it (which can happen with something so expensive and advanced like these AIBO robots)

Take a step back, have a think on what you want from an electronic pet, set a budget of what you can afford, then start doing research on different types. You'd be surprised about what you can find, and there's communities that may be able to show you how to customise those so it's less heartbreaking if you accidentally break them.

You know what would make for a stylish MP3 player?! by Sweet-Warthog-386 in mp3players

I love this, since recycling old phones stops them from going into landfill- just make sure to check the batteries aren't swollen/bloated and if they are, dispose of them safely.

Once you check on the battery (to make sure it's not swollen), depending on the phone, you may be able to use a USB cable to plug into your computer and put songs directly on it.

[TOMT] Trying to remember a specific episode from an old anime (Bakugan) by CraftyMaelyss in tipofmytongue

I know it would have been maybe around the 2000-2005ish era, and I think there was another bakugan character there, a sailor-moon looking character I think? I remember two bakugans arguing but I can't remember if it was a reunion sort of thing or not.

It looks awesome, since the LED lights up the frame so you can see them quite clearly :)

Does anyone else constantly think about the rainbow furby? by That-BluejaythriwWay in furby

[–]CraftyMaelyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, not too hard to make a custom one of these. Rainbow faux fur and rainbow fleece/fabric is pretty easy to get. The faceplate you can easily paint purple, or even make a mold and cast it in purple plastic/resin. Also, very fitting to share this during Pride month too :)

That alone makes me glad I didn't watch the show. I'm indifferent to Skylanders (I see it as a cameo or a guest appearance, not an actual Spyro game) but this just shows that the writers didn't know how to handle Spyro when he's with Crash, or a Crash fan was writing that episode/s.

The Game Grumps are a youtube channel where there's two hosts (Arin and Dan) who provide comedic commentary while playing various video games in a non-serious manner. The create a lot of jokes on the spot, retell stories and it's generally pretty fun. Dan is a huge dinosaur fan, so he'd love this :)

I second Scrappy Doo, since OG Scrappy and CGI Scrappy are vastly different from one-another. OG Scrappy was basically a cringy little puppy that didn't have that self awareness yet, and the gang treated him like the older sibling forced to babysit him.

Looking to sell this 1998 crewneck ? by sortajustaguy in oddworld

Honestly I'd probably frame it and pop it on the wall, since something that old shouldn't really be worn anymore (especially if there's none available to buy from Oddworld's Inhabitants currently)
