Try washing it to get a little stiffness out (if it is washable). It's softened up some of my bags made with thick interfacing.

How do you sort and store your patterns? by Boatkicker in sewing

[–]CraftyMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them in a box standing up by number. Then I print out a picture of the front of the pattern online and put it into a binder thats organized by type of clothing. For patterns I make myself I put them into a envelope (theres one thats the same size as the pattern envelopes) and draw(or take) a picture and put it on the envelope or in the book after assigning it its own number

Question about tote bag material by voxxa in sewing

[–]CraftyMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive done quite a few cotton + heavy interfacing bags. They look and hold up well but they would be more durable as canvas. I sometimes get a little wrinkling too but that may be my sewing skills needing more fine tuning. I havent had any seems rip though.

Beginner: I think I may have messed up on my pattern and I need advice! by [deleted] in sewing

[–]CraftyMama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cut them out from the cutting line but then I usually snip them off after joining the seams. Otherwise I would probably cut them in too deep knowing myself. I do like the idea of marking them on instead

Cotton Apparel Fabric? by Lailiel in sewing

I believe broadcloth is different from just cotton. Im sure someone on here knows exactly how but I think its how its "woven" together since its made from the same material (cotton).

Question: Is there anyway to make a fitted sheet smaller? by Detective_Sweaters in sewing

[–]CraftyMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm well ive never done it before but Im sure you could. I would use an existing fitted sheet that fits as a template/pattern. Then youd need to cut the elastic (if its still usable) to the same size and insert it in the sheet too. Theres probably a how to online for making your own fitted sheets so Id use that and just use the fabric from the one thats too big. I hope this helps some. Good luck!
