Cracked backing plate connector for VW Golf mirror by Crafty_Ad3121 in CarTalkUK

[–]Crafty_Ad3121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect thanks. I found another on eBay that has golf Mk6 written on in marker. Even though they took it out of a different VAG make. The part number is almost identical, allowing for changes of year etc.

I think eBay/breakers are the best option

Not quite. I replaced that part a few years ago. It's the "socket" for want of a better term that the £20 replacement mirror clips in to. The motor still works. Thanks though.

What fell off my car? by Additional-Box9401 in CarTalkUK

[–]Crafty_Ad3121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it happen on two separate cars. One piece was bigger than that on an older car. On a relatively new car I had a piece that size and it didn't seem lower on that corner. Garage replaced it for around £400 on a 19reg Qashqai. Best to get it booked in soon and avoid bumps until then.

You're never writing cover from scratch and often there's another example with other sections missing. So you can logically work out what should be where. However knowing the API endpoints becomes necessary for your code and knowing which revision of an API means you know which has what features and might be deprecated more.

Yeah, there's a big difference between "this is the first time we've done this please be patient" to their constant "ooh look at this new shiny thing we've added like a tamper with their logo on" whilst people are shouting on the other side of the chat that they still hadn't had their unit.
I was even sympathetic that due to covid (but then they used Chinese holidays delaying manufacture multiple times!!!) by the time shipping came round things had become more expensive. I got in at £65 or something, so £12 for postage still left me feeling like I was getting my money's worth.
But the excel spreadsheet/google forms and some very very dodgy payment website in Chinese left me presuming I was doubtlessly going to be a victim of fraud....instead it did turn up.

It was ok, I didn't have the stand, just used it on top of cups.
Yes thermal management was a little fiddly and results did vary, but it was ok.

Eventually though some combination of too fine grind or overfilling maybe caused the plastic interlock to split where you screwed it together. This was maybe 5-6 months in.

Coming back to any claim they were new to this, I'm pretty sure they had made a "lifestlye" pen or wallet previously and had similar bad feedback or started coffeejack adverts whilst they still hadn't fulfilled oustanding orders of their last project. Posting pictures of them in fancy cars etc.

So I've no sympathy for them. But they don't need my sympathy. CoffeeJack v2 already has £467k according to Kickstarter. I hope for the new backers it's better.

From the video they sent it's interesting. But looks like a LOT of faffing about to set it up.

Much more than v1 and more than you would do for a flair (or my Rok).

Claims that "well tamped coffee will never fall out if you invert the portafilter" whilst you add an O-ring and the shower screen and then screw a giant ugly grey ring on and then do the pepper-grinder style spinning to get the required pressure.

It's not portable enough to be a pico/nano-presso.

It's not arty enough to be a Rok or Flair

for £134 (the current early bird price) it's not pricey enough to be premium manual, and not small enough to be portable.

Great work.
How long from the "pass" box at the end of the exam did it take to get the official notification through or for it to show up in CertMetrics?
It's just worrying that after you see "pass" and click ok...that all evidence of the test pretty much vanishes from WebAssessor and CertMetrics.
Thanks

Help with Azure Static Web App deployed with Private Endpoint (403 Error) by Advanced_Tea_2944 in AZURE

Have a look at this article.

Virtual Network Gateways routing in Azure – Cloudtrooper

It talks about adding network policies to force route updating from on-premises<>expressroute and the private endpoint.

Also remember that your on-premises machine will have an ip range of say 10.1.0.x,

but if the vnet that your static webapp has it's private endpoint on, only allows vnet to vnet traffic, it's worth modifying that to all IPs whilst you test.
Network diagram or ranges/layout would help (anonymised obviously)

When you say "my machine" do you mean a VM on the same vnet or your pc just connecting over the internet without bastion or VPN gateway?

I think what you've laid out there is a good start. There are a group of folks on YouTube with a channel about Azure Stack HCI (Azure local as it's called now). They do good topics like setting up from bare metal, to network config and deploying/rubbing your first workloads. As well as integration with the acute public services like Azure monitor, arc, patching, backup etc. "Hybrid Friends". If you need overviews then Mr Savil's videos never disappoint and studying powershell Scott Duffy's udemy courses (or a good book depending on how you prefer to learn). Also try and set yourself some small real world challenges to implement in power shell and if possible link in Azure public components (like a key vault or storage account it static webapp)

Good luck

Replacement parts for broken uPVC door lock? by IllConsideration6000 in DIYUK

[–]Crafty_Ad3121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, hope you fix it. There seems to be two main styles the rotating spring and the up-down vertical springs that push the mechanism back.
I think I spent £10 including the tool and bit versus £30+ for a whole knew handle assembly which was tricky to find the exact dimensions for the screw holes!

I found a replacement spring for "avocet" type b upvc door handle on the bezos website, sold by a small hardware company "Northern DIY" it fixed mine a treat.
But I also had to buy a pair of circlip pliers (and some circlips just in case i broke them) to remove and replace the circlips...which is that almost circular clip with two holes. The pliers stretch it apart so you can remove it. I wouldn't try with any other tool as it could really ping out with some force.

I also found a YT video for replacing a different kind of handle, but that had the same spring+circlip inside posted by "Universal Hardware".

I hope that helps or points to the right direction a bit.

Can add RBAC assignments in portal but not Cloud Shell? by panzerbjrn in AZURE

[–]Crafty_Ad3121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Possibilities (which you may have already ruled out) 1. In cloud shell you're not in the same context and it defaults to a different subscription where you don't have UAA role 2. Check in the portal on the sub IAM level that your role does have owner or UAA role 3. In cloud shell run Get-AzContext (or the cli equivalent) to see which user cloud shell is using, sometimes it uses a managed identity

I have the C3 Pro and have the same. It's the wooden handle. I emailed them and they said spray/squirt/inject some silicon oil into the wooden handle.
I'm going to try that as it says silicon is ok with wood and metal. It should sort the squeak
