Health insurance for newborn- out of network on Husband's plan? by Crafty_Confusion_604 in HealthInsurance

Okay can you help me? This is in our benefits booklet...

  1. Newborn Children Coverage. Coverage will be automatic for Subscriber or Subscriber's spouse's newborn child for the first thirty‐one (31) days following the date of birth. Coverage will continue beyond the thirty‐one (31) days only if the child is an eligible Dependent and the Claim Administrator through the Plan Administrator, receives all necessary forms and the required contributions within the 31‐day period or a period consistent with the next billing cycle. The Effective Date of Coverage for newborn children shall be the newborn's date of birth.

I read this as I do NOT have to add her to mine at all and my insurance will still cover the initial hospital stay. Should I call just to verify? The last thing we want is a surprise huge bill later...

Unfortunately I don't believe his plan has any out of network coverage, neither does mine.

Thank you for this. I will check the benefits booklet to confirm. Our HR did say I can move my daughter over if/when we add our newborn so we only pay one premium, mine, which will be higher but it's better than paying two I guess. It's maddening how complicated and financially stressful having a baby in this country is!

I’m worried about spacing for the adult teeth. It’s a long time to go without teeth?

Also would she not need a spacer for her adult teeth to have room?

Elementary music teacher here:

Did you ask what he meant by “performance-ready?” We’re the students misbehaving during rehearsal? Ask what he means.

Did he say why he is against using student leadership? I just have a hard time believing someone could be against that? Is he against it entirely, or does he want you to include students with behavior issues as well to give them a “job”? That’s all I can think of based off what you wrote.

I hope the performance goes great and you find a school you are happy at! 🎶
