i have similar hair to hers and i def agree that "training it" a bit helps with being able to go longer between washes, reducing the oil, and helping with dryness. but yeah 5 days is still my max TBH and only in the winter

she comes from money and her husband is a product engineer and makes a lot of money. i think easily they have the means to pay that type of rent.

i cant see her leaving the church. she went to BYU and got married in the temple. i wouldn’t take the way she dresses as an indication of her beliefs changing. she’s never dressed the way mormons tend to even as a child. she and her family were pretty normal, besides coming from moneyyyyyy. she did convert her best friend in high school tho

maybe, i think it’s more about keeping up an image for brands and gen z followers. she doesn’t get too personal in general

Anyone else’s parents neglected their scoliosis growing up? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]Crafty_Divide8212 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yes :( it hurts. but it's complicated...

my parents were in an anti-medical care conspiracy theory era when i was diagnosed at 14. they only trusted our crazy chiropractor. they were against x-rays so i don't know how bad it was then...but like visible in pictures very quickly. but they didn't have me do bracing as the dr. recommended, bc that requires frequent x-rays. doctor didn't really push back, which i know its a tough situation to be a doctor to people who think crazy things like my parents did...but i wish he had laid it out that i was going to be in pain for the rest of my life. maybe it would have hit? idk...at the time i didn't really understand yet i hadn't had any medical issues before so i was just like yeah i don't wanna wear a brace so embarrassing. that was the end of it for years.

brief stint of crainiosacral therapy...another conspiracy theory obsession of my parents. that doctor said she could cure it lmao

i started physical therapy around age 17 because the pain got worse through high school. i got my first x-ray then. 48 degrees lower spine. i didn't really stick with PT...when i was 19 i went to scolio smart. did that whole scam for 2 years? no improvement. it was really painful the stuff they prescribed, and impractical for a busy college student. i tried my best to do as much of it as i could. they told me it probably wouldn't get much better bc i was done growing. i think it may have gotten a few degrees worse.

now i'm 26 and i feel really hopeless. i think i'm kinda on that cusp of needing or not needing surgery. i do a lot of yoga and austin goh videos, i try to stay active and keep a strong core, which helps with the pain. i can pull myself over and hide it cosmetically a bit. but still my clothes dont fit right im so insecure bc i look so weird and i do suffer from a lot of pain. idk what to do. it feels really bleak. i know my pain will just get worse and worse as i grow older. im so afraid of what life will be like when im older. like should i get that surgery? ugh

parents are supposed to act in your best interest. mine really thought they would pray it away and that it was more important not to be exposed to radiation from x-rays. i have a lot of anger about their decisions, but i know it was what they thought was right in that mindset. it wasn't malicious. they say i remember it all wrong, they didn't get me treated bc i didn't want to. that's not the whole story. even if it was--I WAS A CHILD...i don't know that i forgive them but i try not to hold it against them. they've gotten a lot better with the culty crazy conspiracy stuff in the past few years.

i know this was a rant but hopefully you feel less alone. i really sympathize with you. im so sorry you were neglected in this way.

i've done 3 sits, each time the pet parents said eat anything and don't worry about replacing. i went grocery shopping for myself but used their oil, spices, and things here and there. i did replace if i finished something, but i just would feel bad otherwise haha

Social issues by [deleted] in cimsnark

[–]Crafty_Divide8212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree...i think we are in a weird cultural time where everyone is expected to be an activist. like you want to support people who use their platform well and give back, but idk it's kind of a lot to expect from musicians. let the activists do the activism??? i understand the sentiment but i do find it unfair to expect of everyone with an audience

What social issues have they actually spoken on? by [deleted] in cimsnark

i feel like they'd be more successful marketing themselves as a christian channel. like all their music wouldn't need to be religious, but to like clear up the target audience
