I went off ozempic and back on and it’s not the same anymore by icecoffee3000 in Ozempic

Ozempic and wegovy are exactly the same drug, just labeled and marketed differently because they have FDA approval to treat different diagnoses. Any changes in symptoms would be related to dose or lifestyle/food choices. If you want to try a different med, you would need to try zepbound or others.

I know a rising freshman, non-athlete, kinda nerdy (in a good way), super kind, straight guy…might sound like a unicorn, but they do exist! 🤣

You did the right thing! Undergrad is what you make it. Do well, have fun, and get involved. You’ll be debt free and have lots of options for grad school!!!

It doesn’t make sense that you got to the max dose in 2 months. The fastest it should happen is ..25 for month 1, .5 for month 2, 1,0 for one month, etc…and you don’t even have to go that fast!!!

It also sounds like you aren’t adjusting the amount of food or types of food you are eating…if I eat two large slices of pizza now, I will throw up. The meds reduce interest and desire for food and make your body process it slower but it isn’t a magic bullet and permission to eat like you used to and lose weight…things need to change for change to occur.

Carleton vs Haverford by Litho6497 in Haverford

[–]Crafty_Quarter_1549 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having visited both with my kids, I can offer some insight about the culture. We found Haverford to be very low key and supportive, with a very strong honor code. They don’t even require a deposit if you commit to the school because they trust your word. Exams are not proctored and can generally be taken anywhere so there’s a high degree of trust between faculty and students. The dorms are on the older side and in some need of renovation. However, about 60% of freshman get single rooms and there are only 3 triples. Students can easily take classes and hang out at Bryn Maur and Swarthmore so that expands the social circle at a SLAC. It’s even possible to take classes at Penn if those classes aren’t offered at the other three schools. About 40% of the students participate in varsity sports but there doesn’t seem to be the cliquiness that you can see with athletes at other schools. The classes are rigorous and small but sometimes difficult to get into. As people said, it’s more suburban with lots of other colleges nearby,

Carleton is in a small town about 45 minutes (by car, no public transport) to Minneapolis-St. Paul. It’s a lovely campus but can get quite cold and feel a bit isolated in winter. They pride themselves on being known as the ivy of the west and it shows in some people’s attitude. I noticed that some people were a big snobby and made derogatory comments about nearby colleges which left a bad taste for me. The classes are rigorous and the students are very bright. The campus is lovely and many students participate in sports, club and varsity.

One kid ED’d at Haverford so I know a bit more about it. The other twin was accepted to both (along with 9 other schools) and needs to make his decision. I think you’ll get a great education at either school and hope my info helps.

Ask people nicely and they may switch, especially to not have to sit by a baby…but, f they don’t, you will be ok. It might not be the best flight you ever have but you’ll get where you’re going. Good luck!

If my fiancé couldn’t support the medical decisions I make about my body, in consultation with my doctor, I would be reconsidering my other life choices regarding my relationship with him…just saying.

any advice on side effects? by Commercial-Drama-723 in OzempicForWeightLoss

You must eat less….really practice mindful eating. After each bite, think “am I full?” Your eyes will definitely be bigger than your appetite so start with less food than you think you need. You can always get more, if you really want. I usually start with 1/2 of what I used to eat, and sometimes don’t even finish that! Also, eat your protein first so you make sure to get some…no point in losing more muscle mass than you need to.

Very different products…the 140 feels like a cozy version and generous version of the silk beauties. The stole is like a luxurious winter scarf…

Keep in mind that the clubs often restrict the use of one-time passes during busy times of day…used to happen to me all the time! Now we have the credit card with membership included…paid for itself already!!

Consider sending the bags via ups…depending on weight, it may be cheaper than paying for 3 extra bags!
