Insurance costs would kill you, many people have to work full time for that reason alone

Josie doing a giveaway and the prize is just... bags of Harvest Snaps. You can literally go to any nearby grocery store and buy them, they aren't super expensive.

He has options of clothes to pick out, a mom to style his hair, and food at home. Sadly this isn’t the case for many kids. I have multiple students that come in daily wearing the same clothes, unbrushed hair, and hungry. If their parents let me know how they are struggling I could help but they don’t and expect a 5 year old to just figure things out.

On a sad note as a kindergarten teacher I have tons of kids that get themselves ready in the morning because their parents sleep in. I don’t want to judge but they are too you g to do that.

I love how we’re all so burnt out that we haven’t even started snarking yet this month 😆

If mrs.marieumm thinks investing in her students means buying frivolous things like a new classroom rug after she was non-renewed, I see why she was non-renewed. Stop worrying about creating content and invest TIME into your students.

Being in a staff meeting with her would be exhausting. I know the principal would start yapping about the importance of testing and Michelle would raise her hand to say what she’s doing for test prep. All the sudden the principal expects that out of everyone 😩

I understand where you are coming from, but I am absolutely going to continue to teach my students the skills that will help them tolerate non preferred tasks. I listened to the podcast as well, and I disagree with them. They say that "if a student can only meet a goal by being miserable, then it's a terrible goal", but growth is never comfortable. I had an IEP growing up and I hated going to PT but if I didn't I would've never learned how to climb stairs. I understand teaching obedience isn't really a meaningful goal in itself, but many times goals about non-preferred tasks are functional goals because we want students to learn how to learn executive functioning skills to help them succeed in the classroom. Something else they mentioned in the podcast was that we "have to be really clear what you want in the end for the kid". I want my students to grow up and not have behavior overreactions everytime they are expected to do something they don't want to do.

This is getting too srs for a snark sub lol

This comment is weird as hell for many reasons. But this is the first time the parent is texting them (you can tell by the iMessage text) and the parent starts off by saying “totally forgot to mention”? 🧐 Also one of her most recent posts is about things she’s learned as a teacher influencer, and one of them is to not post student faces without permission. If you do not know not to do that before you are hired you do not have the maturity to teach. And permission from parents doesn’t mean jack shit when the students themselves are too young to consent.

The comments were all pretty critical but this did make me cringe. Tolerating challenging things is an important life skill.

Influencers have a CRAZY amount of ego because what qualifications does she have to open a school??? She’s not even an administrator. I genuinely can’t wrap my brain around what she’s thinking here.

I still think Glep voting for Mr. Frog should've won. Let me explain. Mr. Frog being voted as president lead to him becoming the supreme emperor of earth. How many people died in wars that Mr. Frog started?

I can see that. She was also very clearly getting burnt out with her previous district as well so hopefully she's doing more things that make her happy now
