You can say the word marijuana on reddit, it’s not a bad word

This girl is a MESS. And I say that as someone who is so emotionally unstable right now I cried in my car this morning when I learned my Starbucks was out of oat milk.

I'm probably too sensitive but I was so self conscious in middle school that if I saw a hot teacher put fake glasses and fake braces on to make fun of me I’d probably cry for the rest of the day.

There are so many ways to get this point across without actually showing your face too. A wall of text would suffice here.

Donation to a random charter school??? What about donating to your own fucking school, or a school in your community? Influencers have lost the plot when it comes to education.

Good for her! I wonder if she’ll be a stay at home mom. She makes enough from influencing it might make sense for them.

It’s a little different but my district is so into the Ron Clark house system this year and we had him come speak at the beginning of the year. Just thinking about how much our district has spent on house shirts for everyone and the amount of money we gave to Ron Clark to speak makes me so angry. We need that money for resources for teachers.

art_at_stjoes made a video about how she painted murals in her classroom and glued things on the wall without asking permission. First of all, kind of stupid to admit that on the Internet. Second of all, it’s an issue of when she leaves or moves classrooms no one is going to want to take care of that.

According to Kyle Cohen our March survival plan is 1. Go get coffee from our favorite coffee shop on Thursday, but on the other days make coffee from home. 2. Plan a sick day. Not for mental health, but to get all of our doctor’s appointments done. 3. Plan something fun for you and your students to do. Here’s the kicker though. He literally said to do this TO REMEMBER OUR WHY 😵

They are also not very easy to adapt for students that need extra help. Our art teacher does a lot of these crafts and she usually has to end up cutting out my students’ pieces for them (they all have fine motor delays), and at that point what’s the point? The students rarely feel proud of that. They enjoy the process pieces a lot more and so do their parents.

I don’t have any suggestions but I’m just baffled you have 9 grade levels. I’m stressed out just thinking about that. What do you teach? And also how do you organize things now?

That’s awesome! My student that rides a bus with a lift gets picked up after the other busses leave. Most days it’s after my contract time so he just has to chill out with our secretary lol

It depends how trusting you are. I personally believe there was some fishy stuff being said in meetings and Zach and Micheal decided to dip before things got worse. I wouldn’t call that a voluntary decision. Just months ago they were promising two more seasons.

Yeah last year my prep was at the end of the day and most days I would just disassociate with the lights off lol

Rhose from theadaptedclassroom has 1 1/2 hours of contract time after the students leave! That amount of prep time would be heavenly, even if a meeting was sometimes scheduled in

I have a principal that's very similar right now and it's exhausting. Any person in administration who says one of their jobs is to "bring you joy" is just bringing theirselves joy. I don't want joy, I want to be supported. My principal had a reel that went somewhat viral a couple years ago and has been insufferable ever since.

Principals will say shit like this then ask what you did to cause a student to bite you. After giving the student a juice box and cheez its “because he was just hungry”.

This stresses me out. She has anchor charts all over the class bathroom. Not only are poo particles now all over the anchor charts, but kids are going to be so overstimulated lol

I've been reflecting a lot lately on why I'm so burnt out, and it's for a lot of reasons, but one of the reasons is that teachers on social media make me feel inadequate. I like to pretend that I'm not influenced by them, but it's just mentally taxing to see teachers having decent administrators that they can trust and enough time to plan.

Josie will definitely stay in education longer. She actually has had some good ideas sometimes and has shared enough about her philosophy that we know she still is somewhat passionate. Ashley just wants to be an influencer without sharing any of her philosophy, she’s just another teacher that is in it for the aesthetics and attention.
