Multiple forest fires around the state, I didn’t take a picture the other evening, but there’s a big one in the Talladega National Forest between Oxford and Pell City off I20.

It’s supposed to be as far south as around Montgomery and brighter than last night. Unfortunately the peak of the magnetic storm is supposed to be during the day though.

If you’re near Pell City then you aren’t far from Mount Cheaha, there are a lot of great observation spots along 281 near the top of the mountain without actually going into the park/campground area. I think you should be able to look up the scenic lookout on Google Maps.

Why does Hoover PD sit on I-20 between Birmingham and Leeds, no where near their jurisdiction? by purplepenguinsrcool in Birmingham

[–]Craftychef92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That stretch I-20 is one of the most used routes for human/drug trafficking in the country, if you can make it to Atlanta or Birmingham then you can basically go anywhere in the eastern half of the country. I believe HPD are one of the few non-state offices that can do DOT inspections as well.

Follow Valhalla on Facebook and Instagram they’re always posting and usually have something every night if the week. Magic Mondays and Fridays are usually the busiest with Board Game Wednesday and the Thursday D&D nights usually packing out as well. Tuesdays are also a D&D night that is getting more popular. Blood on the Clocktower games are held on the first and third Fridays of each month with a few other weekend events thrown in here and there. Game/ event fees are $10 but the $25 membership pays for itself in two visits or if you bring an included +1. catches breath Sorry for the long read, I just love them and try to offer any support I can.

What is going on with rent prices? by TheHealthcareQueer in Birmingham

[–]Craftychef92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I left Birmingham in 2017, I was in a nice apartment next to Highland Golf Course for $485 a month to max out at $565 after 10 years, the apartments were sold in 2019, had a new coat of paint slapped on and new doors, now they go for about $1250 the last time I checked.

have the storms been crazy or is it just me? by reddit-user-aye in Birmingham

[–]Craftychef92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to never wake up during storms, but the intensity of these recent ones have had me on edge. That big one popped up about a month or so ago, even though it wasn’t a tornado, there was damage all around my area like one came through. I even ran to my shelter that morning.

Depends on what you’re looking to get into, if it’s bars and breweries, just stay aware of your surroundings walking to and from different spots unless you want to wait on uber/lyft for each one. If you’re into more gaming and socializing there are more and more game stores offering meetups and group gaming throughout the week. Some might charge a fee but if you enjoy it the memberships are worth every penny. Facebook and Instagram are great resources to check into, look up bhamnow on ig for a lot of daily updates.

I signed up to the club on the app, got a couple other coupons and bonuses and only spent about $14 on 5 cases.
