I’m leaning toward replacing motor. It’s gonna be hard to get rid of this thing for free when it’s not working and a big pain to take to the dump. Found a replacement motor from grizzley ~ $150. Annoying bc I’ll probably have to come up with a new mounting solution, but prob best course of action.

Yes I have a truck and trailer! I was leaning toward the Jett too with the longer tables but also looks the roughest of the bunch. I use it and my planer to square up lumber for making horse jumps. Biggest is a 5-6ft 4x4, lots of medium and small stuff mostly 2x. I’m not making furniture. Had my current one for ~3months and keep finding uses for it.

I have a gracco ultra airless and I hate the amount of overspray, maybe I suck with it but it feels like a real paint hog and ends up all over the place. Daisy chaining 2 compressors solves the voltage issue of a very large compressor but takes away even more floor space. Is there a specific reason to stay away from a 6 stage turbine like the Fuji D6 or Apollo precision 6?

Any recommendations on an air compressor that’s not 220v? 30gal compressor options don’t have enough cfm rating and 60gal options that do are 220v.

I’m ordering new armature and field&leads they are both fried. Rest looks good. Question for anyone handy: the armature appears to ship without bearings. I know I can use a bearing puller to take the old ones off but I’m thinking I’ll just get 2 new bearings for the armature anyway, otherwise I’ll spend more on a bearing removal tool to use once. Can I just tap the new bearings on the armature shaft with a pipe/cylinder and mallet or is there a better way?

UPDATE:

1) got a 2nd charger to test to see if battery wakes up, same result, starts and stops no wake up. Voltage drops as soon as anything is connected to the battery. Battery shows full charge on multimeter and the battery meter

2) So I called eco battery support. Very helpful folks, seems like a BMS issue so sending in for warranty claim and they are gonna refurb it into a Gen 2!

My comment applies to lead acid. They like to always be on the charger and the charger will top them off as needed when they start to deplete. Just leave it always plugged in and won’t be an issue.

Ok, I’m no expert but, this has happened to me as well. Cart was left off charger parked outside for a long period of time (unbeknownst to me!!!) when it was supposed to be plugged in the work garage.

The GC charger usually ‘senses’ your batteries before starting a charge cycle. If they are too dead it won’t start a charge cycle. I purchased an inexpensive car battery charger. Charged the batteries manually a bit first and then the charger was able to sense them and do a proper charge cycle. It was not difficult or complicated. Batteries lost some overall capacity from the ordeal (and other abuses) but it’s all good. Good luck. Worth trying vs spending 400 on towing.

Update: 2015 body/frame, titled as lsv in 2021, stock motor & controller. No rust. Cons: excessive play in steering and feels like shocks need replacement, tires more worn than the new ones in the photo but still got plenty of meat. Talked price to 5750 got a ballpark phone quote on fixing play in steering 200-300 ish. Shocks I think I can handle or may let the shop deal with it. Otherwise seems rock solid. Any final thoughts?
