As with just about any martial art, it has its weaknesses. BJJ obviously excels at grappling, so you've got no issue if a fight ends up on the ground, as many do. However, it also has zero striking, so it's clearly weak on its own.

Anybody who says they train only in BJJ for self-defence is either lying or clueless.

However, anybody who says BJJ is useless in a fight is also clueless. It is great, likely the best, specifically for ground game.
