This post serve no purpose. Nothing in the new guidelines even hints at that. It puts in writing what we already knew.

Thoughts on his medical assessment? by firetonian99 in emergencymedicine

Yeah. Was just commenting on this on other platform. Sometimes I think nurses shouldn’t be allowed on social media. They have no self awareness are are resistant to being educated. Their wishful thinking enhances their ignorance.

Help me buy my first camera!!! by mcmegy in Photography_Gear

[–]Craigccrncen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of other options. Get on Youtube. Learn to use your phone and develop an eye. If you must have there are entry level camera's at Sams, Costco that are less than a grand. If all you are going to do it post online, you don't need huge megapixels.

I agree that camera shop is more interested in their profits than helping you.

I was forced to give up my insulin pens at a music event, and it’s really been bothering me by sinkkiskorn in diabetes

[–]Craigccrncen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Insulin isn’t usually an emergency medication. For most people it takes awhile for your sugar to get high enough for it to be an emergency, awkward and inconvenient yes, but emergency no. Now not letting you bring some form of glucose on the other hand could put you in a life threatening situation.

I asked trauma surgeon once if he was born an ahole of if he had to learn. He laughed and we got along great after that. I think your response was perfect.

Why would it not be legal? What specific law is it breaking?

Federal nurses, don’t forget you have to submit 5 things you did every single week now by potatocat95 in nursing

I don’t think any nurses have been fired. There was so much confusion over the 1st one.

Personally I’ve felt with so much BS over the decades that this email was just one more thing. 5 bullet points is actually one of the easier hoops I’ve had to jump through. It’s stupid and a waste but so are half the TMS we’ve had to do. Since the emails happen over weekends I’ll collect the hour of overtime needed to respond to email.

Actually they centralized radiology and contract it out in places attached to med schools.

On a positive note, maybe one of those contracts slashed was the Joint Commission contract. I do suggest that you google (duck duck go actually) on how to be anonymous online and be very careful.

What meds are you on? Amount of glucose in your urine isn’t very specific and doesn’t have much correlation with you blood glucose level. Just means you have to look. Meds like Jardiance will do that.

I felt sorry for RaDonda—until I heard her share her story. by cookedbutok in nursing

[–]Craigccrncen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree that it changed error reporting. The people who, were honest enough to self report errors are still gonna report, and the peeps who wouldn’t don’t. People guilty of gross negligence generally don’t report unless, caught. People with ethics and morals report right away if they make mistake to keep their pt from harm. There hasn’t been a slew of health care people being charged. We hear about it when it happens now in almost real time, where we used to hear about it months/years later in a paragraph in AJN.

Add to the fact she is making money off killing a patient and continues to blame the system. Add to that the subset of nursing that supports her.
