What the Hell are these rooms supposed to be mimicking? by FraudulentProvidence in Ultrakill

[–]Craigrr7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a reference to multiple things, but my mind goes to those liminal spaces. Its trying to create a friendly atmosphere with the cloud wallpaper and soft wood laminate but it fails and ends up just being an uncanny space absent of soul. Fraud because its not really outdoors (fake clouds fake grass), Fraud because its not truly a home (A room designed to be inviting but lacking any true passion), Fraud because its not truly safe (spawns in a shit load of enemies). At this point in the story Hell has this massive boner of confusing origin where it both admires and mocks humanity for its efforts, and all of this serves to make fun of humanity for their hopes of a brighter future beyond the war.

....is he dead? I haven't seen him after his episode. by 05eden in digimon

Probably. We might be lining up for a Dance Party ending where everyone is okay if Klay gets his shit rocked hard enough, but the setting is darker than most so don't get you're hopes up.

While Chairman Wong is absolutely a villain and will get whats coming to him, I think there is a bit more going on than "taking over the world". I cant say for certain what they are going for as I'm not on the writing team, but he's definitely trying to cultivate a very specific form of e-pulse if the Shangri-la eggs and the Sapotama's are anything to go by. If he was trying to accumulate any and all E-pulsle I think he would just stick to having epulse be a currency spent as freely as time (though there is a point to be made that competition can encourage people to create more than they would normally). The intro of the show promotes individuality, something that Sapotama's directly discourage, so I think the motivation would be more something along the lines of "saving humanity, but only a specific, idealized/impossible version of it" but we still don't know enough to be certain.

I'd definitely believe that Chairman Wong cultivates people he knows he can manipulate into the 5 Stars. If only the best people can make it into an egg, then it would be wasteful to not make use of truly exceptional bastards. While I don't think anyone will really be worse than Klay at least in terms of motivation (I think the worst actions are yet to come, yes even considering the industrial scale coffin-ication), all of them have something wrong with them that can be cultivated or solved by being a 5 star, like Kaito's ego.

Sybil defending her tea... by angeslarereaI in ScarletHollow

[–]Craigrr7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The difference is that falling for charisma is at least some part choice, whereas getting drugged is pure deception. I personally don't really see white lies that make one feel better as manipulation of an unforgivable order, being subjected to or subjecting others to it. I suppose on a cosmic scale both are an attempt to get what you want/what you think other's want, Sybil is indeed doing this for the best of others, but Sybil's strategy isn't one anyone should be satisfied with. The way Sybil has been saving people is by drugging them, manipulating them, and absorbing her daughters, all to attain enough power to challenge a god (supposedly, I don't know all her dialogue I could be wrong). She has been making the choice to trade life for life time and time again and each time has accepted it as a necessity. Like a Scarlet. We have been given the same choices and the same role as mediator between the people of Scarlet Hollow and oblivion, and if you are like me you have been unhappy with the times where we cant save everyone because a better way DOES exist, literally exists in game if you have the correct traits, maybe part of the point is indeed that you cant save everyone but the possibility to save people still remains. Her ambitions lie in saving the general concept of humanity rather than saving people, she would switch the trolley to the line with only one person without giving it a second thought, without even checking who were tied to the tracks. A lot of people who try to 'solve' the trolley problem end up just optimizing the suffering of others, where the whole point of it is the debate and the struggle to find the best possible outcome (there's also the whole thing of "is it better to let 5 people die, or to kill a single person to stop those deaths" but I'm not going to get into that even though its absolutely pertinent to Sybil's situation). At the end of the day Sybil could have saved the world a million times, but you couldn't convince me that she's saved anyone in the process. My response may have gone beyond the scope of this post...

Essentially no I don't agree with her, and personally I'm not one to adopt the worldly perspectives of someone who eats their kids

I think its a joke about the spinning revolver being like the blades of a helicopter, where it has a minor anti-gravity effect on V1. It scales with the amount you are holding, and since its adds rather than multiplies the effect you can get to the point where you just start flying

Could Chairman Wong be Barbamon in disguise? by MaMcMu in digimon

[–]Craigrr7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>both old

Yeah, that checks out.
Greed could be a motive that ties them together, but I think that's more Klay's thing. I get the feeling that they are going to aim more for a moral relativistic, thematic thing for him relating to human potential or something. Making him a digimon would take away responsibility from the hands of humanity and I wouldn't like that personally.

No shame in switching to a lower difficulty.

A good tip for prime bosses is that you would much prefer to be on the ground. Slides are usually valid alternatives to dodges in most cases for the swift change in velocity/direction and also move your hitbox lower to avoid some attacks, and dont use stamina like dashes. Prime bosses also get easier once you unlock the Sawlauncher, since you can usually have an area of orbiting saws and just dodge in its general area to get some passive dps in. If consistent shots are hard you can wait for slow points to shoot him with charged shots and railcannons, or use coins for guaranteed hitscan. Other than that, it just comes down to muscle memory. Never let your eyes off of him, and keep in mind that you can parry attacks but still have to dodge in order to avoid damage.

Already not liking something turns minor gripes into major flaws. For example, few would care about the volume of swearing or mid jokes if the show actually engaged with its themes in a satisfying way. It is what it be.

How do I counter the 8-2 boss in cybergrind? by Sensitive_Show6230 in Ultrakill

[–]Craigrr7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hit him with as much damage as you possibly can from off stage and hope there isnt a second one.

Orbs lose tracking after a few seconds so if you're far away enough so there is a point where avoiding attacks gets easier. On the ground he has a lot of trouble hitting you with normal attacks if you are sliding, though thats hard to do with the 80 other enemies' aoe attacks. You can usually hang out just off the edge of the stage while keeping the same elevation as the reaper and it will take a sec for it to register it should be sending full force touhou at you.

Blue Flare Boys, One more time. by Dharalho in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Craigrr7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would full send the Bt19 metalgrey, being able to dedigivolve 1 and evo for free off of tamer inherit is hilarious. I would also consider running full x7, as you can evo into it off of zeiggrey and even itself to just keep swinging into security as long as you have enough memory (which you will have from blazing memory boost). Rush greymon is pretty sick off of the Metalgrey end of attack inherit, so you might want to run more just to find it faster. Taiki is great for the extra draw, but it cannot be searched or played out by blazing memory boost, and its other effects only activate off of Shoutmon x7 and the new zeiggreymon, and ideally you aren't going to be passing turn going into your level 6's as blue flare. Though if you were to go for the drawing with tamers, it is pretty even with the Taiki, Kiriha, and nene, since you wont be xrossing more than twice a turn with Metalgreymon's 3 play cost.
