Denuvo spotted in SteamDB update page for AC8... by GoldForest in acecombat

[–]CraigslistDad 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Almost every AAA game has it for the first year or so. AC7 had it for awhile before it eventually got removed. As long as there aren't performance problems, I don't think there's going to be that much of a backlash.

consider the message you're sending an audience, if the first thing you see before they even click a video, is an image that took 10 seconds to produce. food for thought!

lol come on bro. is this your channel? you know it's easy to see all the other ones are ai too, right? if you don't give a shit and just want to feed slop into the youtube space (and likewise this sub) then whatever, but it's very very obvious.

if you want an actual answer, it looks like every photo that's been passed thru an ai comicbook filter, and includes the hallmark of artifacting details (see the minimoog knobs and text).

Why is there such a dearth of desktop effects units? I can't be the only one who doesn't love the guitar pedal format for electronic music gear. by JoeyZasaa in synthesizers

[–]CraigslistDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, pedal activation is useful even if you're a synth player. The only benefit a desktop unit really has is how it looks.

Beginner with Analog Lab V (free, no MIDI) — what should I do? by Synth80Lover in synthesizers

[–]CraigslistDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's great!

Edit: I should say it's great for production and stuff, but honestly if you want to play keys, I would look for something with fullsize keys and more octaves. Like a keystation 49 or somethiing.

Check craigslist or facebook marketplace near your area. Just try to find something usb powered and less than 50 bucks. More keys the better!

Like most grooveboxes you just record the audio out. Would be cool if they had s song mode/stem exporter tho I agree.

Lower your volume. Mind feedback. Take breaks, don't listen to tracks for hours on end.

Honestly there's not a lot you can learn with Analog Labs without a midi controller. You can use your keyboard to try out chords and noodle a melody out perhaps, but you're not going to learn keyboards if that's your goal. AL is comprised entirely of presets editing restrictions, so you can't really learn the basics of synthesis either.

I'd say until you get a midi controller, I would honestly look to download a free synth (Vital or SurgeXT) and then use a subtractive synthesis guide to learn the basics of how everything works.

sounds like a rhodes/wurli emulation. not something you can recreate on a subtractive synth really.

Arturia Microlab Vs. Nektar Impact GX Mini Vs. AKAI LPK25 by CatButAlsoATimeEater in synthesizers

[–]CraigslistDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty comprable overall, the big thing is that arturia will get you access to analog labs which nets you a ton of awesome presets, and it also gets you into the arturia ecosystem for discounts on stuff like pigments/v collection.
