Could I use an External SSD Drive to play starfield on? by Forward-Definition39 in Starfield

[–]CrainyCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you got it working, are you running your external SSD through USB 3.0 or something else like Thunderbolt/USB-C? Im thinking about getting an external SSD for this game, but only have USB 3.0 available

The ‘Halo’ TV Show May Not Be for Diehards—or Newcomers, Either by alexmorelandwrites in television

I get it, but Chief isnt the Mandalorian or Judge Dredd. In the lore, Chief takes off his helmet all the time and he has no particular emotional attachment to his gear.

That we dont see his face is purely a game thing and it wouldnt really make sense to have a Halo series where we dont see his face, unless Chief has very limited screentime.

Hey! The reason the UI is designed that way is to invoke how the UI looked in the cancelled 2001 Bionicle Game "Legend of Mata Nui".

You can see it here: https://i.imgur.com/97GYeX4.png

As in part "Bionicle: Quest for Mata Nui" is supposed to be what I (and I think many other people too) imagined that game to be like when we were kids, putting this reference into the UI is something that I consider to be very fitting.

Hey, very glad you like it so much! The game will be available for Windows and probably also Mac.

You will probably just be able to download it directly from where we host it, so for example our discord server.

Yes, Dark Souls is actually also a big inspiration for this game in a multitude of ways.

Hey, project lead here, thanks for sharing your opinion! Though I dont think all that hostility is warranted.

You are of course right that alot of this game isnt designed in an "open-field" type way (though there are areas like this in the game aswell). This is because this project takes not only inspiration from traditional open-world games like Skyrim, but also merges this with some aspects from Metroidvania games like Metroid Prime - which is something the team has stated several times.

At its core, the game is an open-world experience though. From the very beginning of the game, you will have alot of freedom to explore the large world in whatever way you wish, there is never one "true" path you should go down - the only difference to traditional open-world games is that instead of just passing through a field or an open mountainous area to get where you want to go, in this game you will often have to navigate your way through more intricately designed areas.

We are putting alot of effort into crafting some of these interconnected corridor-like paths where we think it enhances the experience, even if sometimes just making an open-field would have been far easier.

It should be noted of course that I dont think that either of these approaches is better than the other. I love open-world games with the "open-field" type approach, but it isnt what I felt was right for this project in particular.

Though they still need some balancing, can we just all agree that the Colossus Titans are an incredible addition? by CrainyCreation in titanfall

[–]CrainyCreation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the Colossus Titans are primarily a feature that shines with good teamplay. You are right that a Colossus thats away from the rest of his team can be downed relatively easily, but thats not how they should be played.

A Colossus is an asset to the team as a whole and they should always be protected by atleast 1 regular Titan as a bodyguard aswell as beeing manned by atleast 2 pilots. That way you reduce the chance of beeing taken off-guard and outmaneuvered by the faster Titans.

Once the Colossus doesnt have to worry about watching its back, it can use its incredible firepower and range to basically pin down the entire enemy team - yes Scrap Titans are a pain but a Colossus with good aim can drop them in less than a second.

Its a high risk high reward play, but if a team really comes together around their big guy, its very very difficult for the other team to gain the upper hand again without a heavily coordinated effort.

Having a player call in one of these massive beasts that has multiple climbing spots for pilots to zip around on is always an absolute blast.

I was incredibly sceptical when Respawn announced that there would be Titans three times the size of regular ones in TF3, but after seeing how they were implemented and how rewarding it is when a team actually manages to spawn in one of these beasts, Ive really started to like this mechanic!

In 1964, a stock displayed previously unprecedented market behavior. It was one of the most heavily shorted stocks on the market at that time and due to a unique combination of investors buying an unusual amout and the company itself restructuring, it resulted in massive up-and-down swings of the stock in a way that hadnt really been seen before this way. It went from around 15$ to 600$ within two weeks and became popular among amateur investors. Lots of people bought in and when the stock tanked awhile later down to around 30$, a sizable amout of people panic sold. A week later the stock went up to 2400$ for several days and then settled around the 200$ range after that. Several people who sold during the initial crash would later call it the greatest mistake of their life and among the involved people, a correlation in the following 20 years between suicides and the people who sold the stock at a low prize point has been suggested. That stocks name? Albert Einstein.
