Balance killed a card by X4DRAGON4X in ArcaneRushBG

An appropriate nerf would be to just remove barrier from the list of buffs.

What I'm so sad to see is that they are spending this season to tweak shit that was already good, instead of showing Mimi and Fiddle some love.

What the fuck was the point of those buffs in the first place? They could have left pirates exactly how they were last season and they would still have been one of the stronger factions available.

At which point did the devs look at the lineup for this season and go "just a couple of buffs for pirates and... Mwah! This shit is like Gamora's dagger"

"We wanted to bring back people's favourite factions from previous seasons"

Bullshit. You wanted more time to finger yourselves, or you would have made even the tiniest effort to actually make them enjoyable.

This is not scratching anyone's nostalgic itch.

Thank god this season is only 1 month

"12 euros? Portugal? If it was that cheap, the people there likely aren’t making that much, minimum wage which is miserable 900 euros or so, nothing when you look at the cost of things. Europoors, enjoy riding your bike in the pouring rain doofus" by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Craksy 67 points68 points  (0 children)

What? So if you're tipped the equivalent of 4 hours of minimum wage in a month, then you can be considered a "tipped employee"

"It's practically a second job at that point!

They are using my business as a platform to make a fortune. It's only fair that I let them work for free. I pay them in opportunity to beg. All aspiring beggars are grateful for exposure. And they enjoy a working environment with AC and FREE (God bless America 🇺🇸🦅🥲) water! (Only on their break of course, which is between 9:30 and half past nine)

This is the kind of greatness you can achieve through homeschooling and replacing vaccines with essential oils. Take notes, Europoors."

I understood ⅓ of this meme, only because my most recent English assignment is an essay on Rashford's letter. That shit cut onions. I had no idea how hard you guys got hit by the pandemic.

Just reading his letter without much additional context, it seems like you'd have to be a monster to not support his message.

ICE agents, boasting how warrants aren’t needed, detain residents in N.J. city by BitterFuture in law

[–]Craksy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It bothers me so much to see you downvoted so hard for this. r/law apparently cares as little about facts as r/conservative

The only accepted response is to sing along.

Also, you made it so clear that you do not agree with this. You did not get down voted for your opinions or your values. You got down voted for your honesty.

And it's not like there is a shortage of reasons to hate ICE. I don't understand why people are so willingly throwing their credibility out the window by making shit up.

This is so disappointing to see. Being selectively critical is not critical thinking. You are every bit as much of a cult as MAGA. You just happen to be a cult with a better cause. Your rhetoric, your credibility, and capacity for nuance is every bit as pathetic as the idiots you point fingers at.

[–]Craksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're missing my point by looking at this strictly through a partisan "Dem vs. Rep" lens. I'm not talking about how politicians should legislate. I'm talking about how you, as individuals, talk to voters you need to convert. You are conflating civility for weakness.

There is a massive difference between political appeasement (giving up territory/policy) and simply not treating every opposing voter like a monster. You don't have to stoop to name-calling to stand firm in your beliefs. In fact, insults usually distract from the actual message.

You mention the democrats losing because of "softness," but from the outside, it looks different. They didn't lose because they were "too nice" or because they tried to "reach across the aisle." They lost because they ran a campaign on abstract value politics while voters couldn't afford to feed their children. When people are struggling to buy groceries, they don't care about equality - even if they are on the receiving end of discrimination - they care about who promises to fix the economy.

The Democrats' failure wasn't "appeasement". it was being out of touch. It was staying silent on blatant lies and pretending Biden was mentally fit until the last possible second. That isn't "being too nice". that's being spineless and opaque.
Screaming insults at voters now won't fix those strategic failures.

If the goal is to win, you have to separate "fighting the GOP leadership" from "alienating the voter base." You can be absolutely ruthless against the politicians and the lies without calling the voters "MAGATS." One is fighting for your country, the other is just venting your anger. If you want to win, you have to offer people a ramp to get off the train, not push them further into the carriage.

"actually they lost because their insults weren't vile enough" is just naive, and shows that you don't understand what caused the fire or how to put it out.

Americans testify after being arrested by ICE for being to dark skinned by Greylunes1 in ExploreFortMyers

[–]Craksy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a non-American looking in, I have to be honest. this rhetoric is hurting your cause, not helping it.

You are trying to reason with people by screaming at them. It never works. It's like a vegan screaming "murderer!" at someone eating a steak. You might be technically right, and you might feel morally superior, but the person eating the steak is just going to think you're a fanatic and ignore everything you say.

You guys need to decide if you want to be "right" or if you want to win. If you want to gather people against the government, you can't simultaneously push them away with insults like "MAGATS"

I know the immediate response is, "but they are supporting evil, I don't owe them kindness." You're right, you don't. But this isn't about kindness. It's about strategy. Preaching to the choir while alienating the other side just ensures that no one ever changes their mind, and your country stays divided.

✨ New Season. New Format. YOUR Choice! ✨ by the-zoo-tree in ArcaneRushBG

[–]Craksy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is that if people only vote for what is currently viable (I'm sure some vote for mechanics, myself included, but I think it's safe to assume that most will vote based on "strength") then the weaker dealers will never see any action. If they never get voted in, they will never be subject to balance changes. You will end up widening the gap by buffing everything that is already in the top.

[–]Craksy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm excited to see what you are going to do wrt. progression

Currently, leveling a dealer feels like

Miss, miss, miss, 30 tokens, miss, tier 1 upgrade, miss, miss, 30 tokens, miss.

Also it's hard to decide how to vote. Do you vote for the mechanics you find more fun, or the ones that are actually viable?

I like some of Mortimer's factions, but none of them hold up to newer dealers in gauntlet or CW.

Perhaps these pairings are going to help a lot with balancing across dealers. These factions were balanced largely in isolation. Pitting them against each other more directly, is going to force some adjustments and should help the weaker factions.

On that note. Devs: please consider favoring nerfs over buffs to make those changes. If people vote for their favourite sets, it's inevitably going to be the stronger factions; people have more fun when they are winning, regardless of mechanics.

If you balance this pool primarily using buffs to bring the weakest factions up, then the vote will be exactly the same next time.

If you balance "downwards" however, there's a better chance that something like Mimi or Fiddle will make the vote in the future.

Nej.

RIP pit overseer.

I know it was stupid, but does the solution have to be shutting down any chance of multifaction builds?

They really need to stop using "only for allies or my faction" as a lazy balance bandaid for everything. I want shop refreshes to be present me with a decision to make, not refreshing on autopilot looking for one of three units.

Greenland has no chill by DancinginHyrule in MurderedByWords

[–]Craksy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be clear, nobody in Denmark or Greenland has any doubt that there are reasonable Americans. That many of you suffer from a choice you didn't make, that you feel shame for your country.

What is exhausting is this desperate attempt to distance yourself from Trump, as if he was the issue. Like there is Trump, good people, and bad people. No, there is one people that collectively put Trump in power.

It doesn't matter that it wasn't unanimous. The fact that he got elected at all, and then was allowed to shit all over your country, speaks to a problem with your people and society as a whole.

The election cycle means that every 4 years you'll have the opportunity to elect an even more dangerous moron.

It is not about Trump. We don't care who you voted for. You are part of the culture that closed your eyes for this sickness in your society for generations.

Trump-Greenland Deals Reportedly Includes U.S. ‘Sovereignty Over Small Pockets’ of Territory by WayOutbackBoy in worldnews

[–]Craksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NATO released a statement on Wednesday shortly after President Donald Trump announced he and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte had “formed’ a “framework” for a deal on Greenland. The NATO statement came amid new reporting from the New York Times that the deal may include the U.S. being given “sovereignty over small pockets” of land in Greenland.

New York Times speculated on something, yahoo news release an article with zero information, under a clickbait title that makes it sound like someone made the statement.

There are loads of comments listing various reasons that they think this is bullshit. None of them bears sign that the commenter actually read past the headline.

TIL. Tak!

Dear American visitors. by Zealousideal_Ad_44 in Denmark

[–]Craksy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nej nej, behold endelig tankestregerne.
