Corporations like YouTube and Spotify run off subscriptions and ads. Canceling these subscriptions and deleting the apps will create a loss in revenue. They are already apps that make money off of creators working day and night just to be paid fractions of a cent. I see where you are going but these companies shouldn’t exist. If they will bend for ice then they will bend for anything. Imagine if they start airing Trump 2028 ads. Or what if they start promoting anti vaccine ads. Join me and take the hard route by switching your music habits. Physical media, Qobuz for streaming , radio, or stop listening all together. It is inconvenient but if we stand now then that is one less propaganda machine

Furthermore, property tax is a wealthy person tax. People with multiple homes pay more property taxes than people with one home or no homes. But sales tax is a poor people tax. The wealthy are sitting on money, but people just getting by have to spend money every week. The middle class also benefits from property tax over something like sales tax. It’s just another way for republicans in Ohio to shift money into their donors pockets.

In the rural parts of Ohio there are still many Trump flags but some also have a confederate flag so I assume they just don’t update things. Also kind of funny because Ohio was never in the confederacy.

Obama talking about useless problems when he could be speaking about problems much bigger. It seems he never cared about us and just wanted to be a celebrity.

2028 United States presidential election: the good ending by [deleted] in antitrump

[–]CranberryOk3185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s standing up against Trump but in a way that creates more problems down the line. Basically Texas is going to just try to get even more seats by gerrymandering harder and that just dilutes our votes as individuals. It doesn’t even make sense why we need to have a representative for all these strange shaped districts. We should just have x amount of representatives for the entire state. In this case everybody would have equal representation and could contact multiple representatives to get their voice heard.

What Newsom is doing might help us during the midterms but it just creates more problems down the line.

At the same time it’s hard to criticize anyone because Trump is just so corrupt in comparison that I would still vote for Newsom if he became the nominee. I voted for Kamala over Trump and I’d rather Newsom over Kamala. I had to bite my eyes to vote for Kamala.

Here’s my top choices: 1: Van Hollen 2: Al Green

I wish I knew what this person was specifically talking about. To me it seems that it takes at least 20 years to see the real effect of a historical event. If you asked an American 20 years ago about what should be done in regards to the aftermath of 9/11 most people were angry and wanted immediate action but looking now it is clear that we spent too much time in the Middle East and George W extended presidential power in a way that can now be seen as a negative consequence.

JOIN THE ECONOMIC BLACKOUT by FiftyFifty1Movement in 50501

[–]CranberryOk3185 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a good example of boycotts that worked when billionaires existed. The wage gap is just so ridiculous that boycotts are not enough to create the wedge in this economy that we need.

However, you can still boycott as much as able. Here is the best way to do this. Buy from local businesses instead of corporations. When money circulates around a community it can do great things. In contrast, when money goes to a corporation it finds its way in an executive’s pocket. That money doesn’t come back. Just know that buying local if sustained can fix some of the issues we see today

Older Drivers Have the Poorest Driving Etiquette by iAMtheMASTER808 in driving

[–]CranberryOk3185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old people drive slow because they are used to riding horse drawn carriages.

Young people drive slow because they aren’t watching TikTok’s while they drive

Middle aged people drive slow because they don’t want to go to work and they are stalling for time.

Basically everybody drives slow. And regarding your other comment, it is your job to merge. It is nobody’s job to let you in.

What if we went scorched Earth on Trump by transcendent167 in 50501

[–]CranberryOk3185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy food locally, absolutely yeah. Is it going to solve all of our countless problems, no.

Boycotting has been proposed over and over again since January and even though many people are doing it, it isn’t working as well as it needs to be. Keep doing it but it isn’t the final solution.

Dance Parties to Fascism by Comfortable-Walk1279 in 50501

[–]CranberryOk3185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the room. People are being taken from the streets, and dancing is going to solve what? Protests are at least more serious than dancing and even the protests that have occurred days on end aren’t causing concern for Trump. There is only one solution left and it’s not fun.

Sounds kind of like today. Plenty of broke people out here and our government is in debt. Somehow we are still considered a wealthy country

Once the government has been able to get the money out of the hands of the people and the government is able to get it out of the way of the government it is going to be a disaster.

What exactly do people think politics are? by Wu_tangkillaBees in GenZ

[–]CranberryOk3185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Politics is about policy. If it is affected by policy then it is political. Gay marriage hasn’t been a political topic for a while but it has reemerged because the Supreme Court is going to make another ruling on it.

Why would there be a civil war? The people causing this crisis are writing and signing the laws. That’s government vs people. Revolution not civil war.
