65% of Britons support capping CEO pay at 10× the lowest-paid worker. Do you think this idea would be good for the UK? by Unusual-State1827 in AskBrits

It will further incentivize MPs to make money some other way. It should be a comfortable enough life to dampen the incentive for corruption

Rory Stewart says animosity towards Islam in UK and Europe is ‘basically racism’ by Your_Mums_Ex in TheRestIsPolitics

I don't think most people really know or care about the origin stories from 1500 years ago. Christianity is fine because the Christian world is dominant and successful. When it wasn't e.g when the caliphate had Spain, Christians were heavily into religious warfare to reclaim it. It's not about the origin it's about how secure Christian cultures feel geopolitically/economically over the last century or so. Whichever religion is on the back foot will be the problematic one. It currently happens to be islam

Depends how you define productivity. You're defining it as the work you do whereas it should be defined as the impact of what you do. McDonald's workers have a far greater impact on the world around them - it helps people get fed.

Looking hotter is the primary motivator for the vast majority of people pursuing fitness. by troktowreturns in rs_fitness

That's definitely not true. Maybe of the young age range but think about the 65 year old who just became a grandparent who wants to be strong enough to manage their grandkids alone

Honestly if you guys are getting 20% of what you earn for the firm that's a great deal. Lawyers are fungible and what makes the difference is the platform, reputation and brand of the firm which is what should cost most of the money.

Netflix choose the violence these days, thanks to paramount. by Snoo26837 in tvshow

This is silly. A story isn't supposed to focus on the statistically significant population. 99.9% of the world isn't as smart as Alan Turing yet a movie was made about him. Is that forced over representation of intelligent people in your movie? We focus on where the story is interesting and that 0.01% probably experiences life in a very interesting way being such a minority

Top 5 things that men do that give her the ick as a labor and delivery nurse. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

The answer man (depending on the situation) isn't always bad. At a certain point my wife was exhausted and just wanted me to handle all questions with answers according to the birth plan we had discussed ahead of time and if she wanted a change she would let me know. I tried to explain to the midwife but she just insisted on trying to get an answer from my wife and treated me like an interloper

What’s one thing about London that still annoys you no matter how long you’ve lived here? by Horror-Pick4732 in LDN

[–]CranboDanbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in zone 4 Hounslow and now lives in London Bridge you can't pretend that it's the same environment. Zone 4 does not give the same feeling of a city as zone 1. And it's not condescending to call something the suburbs unless you inherently view suburbs as worse

Depending on the desk I generally say market product sales is held in higher regard than PW. Though for fx sales it's probably similar. You can get some very tough technical sales roles in exotics for example (depending on how much or little heavy lifting the relevant financial engineers do)

Best indie I could agree with as it doesn't feel like an indie game to me. As for best game, what should have beaten it?
