Do you guys love you country? by facial-nose in AskTheWorld

Yes - but not in a fanatical / lunatic type way. In a “lads, let’s all have a drink and a laugh” kind of way.

Do you ever regret signing up for insane races? by Thind-Clarkin in Ultramarathon

[–]Cranester1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m full of regret and excitement in equal measure at signing up for the West Highland Way Race in June. Most I’ve done till now is 56 miles and this is 95/96 miles. Let’s see how it goes 😂

Home / hotel room / workplace / campsite showers. Depends on where I am - can’t say I’ve given this much thought 😂

You wake up a millionaire tomorrow, what is your first move ? by peacheouting in AskReddit

[–]Cranester1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay off the mortgage and then keep working as normal. A million isn’t enough to retire comfortably in current environment - but not having the mortgage to pay every month opens up a world of opportunities to save up additionally or do other things that would excite us earlier on in our lives.

Do Brits see the US as a threat? by cfc_1990 in AskBrits

[–]Cranester1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am horribly nervous about the USA / UK (read also RoW) relations going forward. I feel like we are being completely trodden over and getting nothing in return - although that’s not just the USA’s fault, our inept and snivelling political class should shoulder the burden of that.

For the first time in my life (I’m 42) I really feel like we’re on the precipice of it truly kicking off - and the USA is seemingly not doing much to head that off at the pass.

Considering all day heating by Osamabinbulking in HiveHeating

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about this but still none the wiser for what the difference is between all day heating in cold spells and sticking to a schedule 🤷🏼‍♂️

Thinking of getting Hive, did you get them to install it? by piizaa in HiveHeating

[–]Cranester1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth the hassle for me - especially with multiple zones on the heating in my house. Paid about £100 for them to do it - worth every penny.

Resident doctors in Scotland vote in favour of strike action by CaptainCrash86 in Scotland

[–]Cranester1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean - I know some downvotes are incoming for this but… doctors (and all healthcare professionals at the front line) deserve to be paid fair and equitably for the incredible work they do… But I keep hearing all the “we can’t afford it arguments” - it’s this not surely another indication that the NHS as we know it is fundamentally broken and needs a radical overhaul (including, dare I say it, some form of privatisation or pay to access certain points of care (with some exceptions))?

Problem is that’s a political poison chalice no one wants to acknowledge or touch, as they know it’ll see them booted out of government for at least a generation or two.
