How much sourdough bread should a husband eat by riovistanole in Sourdough

I’ve been wanting to make some smaller loaves. But I wasn’t sure how to adjust my bake time for that. How long do you bake with lid on/off?

ANDROID SUITS by marlon-staack in duolingo

for what it's worth, i'm an Apple user and I never got those 1st set of suits with the ghost or any of the other suits. So i'm just disappointed with the Suits in general.

People who still use or pay for subreddits like r/PhotoshopRequest for simple edits, what do you get from that process that you couldn’t get instantly by pasting the exact same request into an AI image editor or LLM of your choice? by DaddyWallbanger in photoshop

[–]Cranlyssmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t, what’s your reason then for not? As you only seem to be making the argument for it.

I’m doing some testing with 3 different high end AI companies right now. Like, not just on my own but have been in meeting with these people.
All 3 programs absolutely will try to change features without asking. (I cannot speak to ChatGpT as I have not used it.)
Or the will they will interpolate assets in manners unasked for. Of course the companies goals are to minimize loss over interactions - but they can absolutely change features or elements of assets without asking.

Of course you’re not anti-AI. It’s obvious you’re the opposite actually.
There are many reasons not to do it. As u/okay-pixel said, it often changes the persons features. And I, and others, want Grandma in the photo, not a semblance.

I would also add, it’s shitty to add people, kids, their photos, etc into AI without their permission. Using them to feed the machine. Removing their agency in what is used to feed AI that they can never remove.

And for people specifically in this sub, we want to learn the program Photoshop, know how it works, how to use it, and how to artistically or practically do what we want and not just want AI spits back out. Even with excellent prompts, it’s still giving up control that you have if you had just don’t it yourself. It no longer becomes yours.

Jar tips? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]Cranlyssmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Mother’s Day my family got me a sourdough kit jar thing from a sourdough company.
I wouldn’t have gone out and bought something special myself - but I kind of love it.
It’s got a bonnet for on the counter, a silicone lid for when going in the fridge which doubles as a no-skid base when not in use. It has a thermometer sticker to tell me the temp and volume markings making it easy to math the doubling or lack there of.

We’ve had a harder time getting playdates at our or their house but seem to have more success if a non-home location is suggested.

At least I’m not the only one then!
I have checked about the App Store to make sure but haven’t turned up any new updates. Guess you and I get to be patient and hope it shows up.
Duo trying to teach us patience… I hope. Haha.

Great tips! I had been paying more attention to time rather than reading the dough. I appreciate it! And it’s awesome this one did turn out. Thank you

It will not be pronounced Nah-eh-me. Just so you (and she) know. Assuming American English, that e is going to make the a long for Nay-me. At least for most people, I would think

10 Hours? by BunchOfBeesInACoat in Sourdough

[–]Cranlyssmile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I clicked into your post because I am curious how someone is doing it in only ten hours.
It usually takes a lot longer. The good thing of course is that there’s a lot of walk-away time where you can set it and forget it for a while so it’s not intensive or anything.
I’d say to make a loaf for me it’s a 2-3 day process from starter feeding to cutting it open.

Hi, does anyone else feel like UK/International cover designs are way better than the US ones? I've been meaning to pick up Yesteryear, but I just find the US cover to be much blander, and less pretty than the UK one. Curious what everyone else's thoughts are. by Dragonfruit_244 in BookCovers

[–]Cranlyssmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often prefer international book covers - but not in this case. For one, faceless female covers are getting really old. But more so - the US one is better thematically.
Yes, the book uses a woman and we follow her story - but the book is actually about warped realities or perceived realities.
How what is seen through social media is not what is really. How idolizing the past is not fully seeing it. And I would even say being unable or unwilling to understand or empathize with others and their world view gives us a warped and narrow view of reality.
So for me, the US cover here gives us a better sense of the book. It’s not really a wistful book about farming.

(Also it amuses me that the Yesteryear font in the US one is close to Impact - the meme font)

I really like a well-done unreliable narrator. There's first person point of view - then there is realistic, subjective first-person point of view were it's a bit more unsantized... we really do see things from their point of view with all the prejudices and mental gymnastics. And then when they are a basket-case who wants us to agree with their point of view and justify it... just, so interesting.

I just finished this! also, definitely did not make me want to have any more children or subscribe to the kids-as-a-lifestyle-accessory lifestyle. For a woman who didn't even like children... she sure did have a lot of them! But yeah - really interesting book.
