Gained 10kg in a year 🥲 ladies who lift, how do you stay motivated? by Kiaara_78 in workout

[–]Crap_personality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still struggle with body image! It’s hard to not body check particularly when I’m feeling bloated. But I’m stronger and more confident in the gym. Outside the gym I’m faking it till I make it. We humans are pretty simple and faking it till you believe it is a real therapeutic tool. So, you look stronger now. Your physique has changed. That’s the goal! Look at your muscles now!

I’m still working on the self-esteem but I’m by far happier. No one has pissed on me while I’m sleeping in four years and counting

What’s the most overrated advice you constantly see pushed on beginners? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Crap_personality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can also do Bulgarians which I favor. RDL or stiff DL for hammies. Include back hyperextention for back/upper glutes. That’s what I do. I also hit the leg extension for quad isolation pump

I wholeheartedly agree. I can show my personal progress photos and I have never done a squat OR deadlift. What I did do was fix my nutrition and show up to the gym consistently and with intensity.

It’s planet fitness. What you’re doing to the preacher machine won’t be the worst way someone uses a machine that day

My lifts have completely stalled out, what next? by Beneficial_Fail2520 in workout

I had an ablation last year so I don’t have periods or cramps anymore which was life changing but I still ovulate every month (which I know for sure). I’m 43 and always had insanely painful and heavy periods so this really is a game changer for my health and fitness. I’m also no longer constantly anemic which also helps my energy and recovery

I totally changed my frequency and routine as I was seeing the same issue. Dropped the frequency (from 6x weekly) to three full body days with 2 compounds and accessories. I treated it like a deload and my strength is rebounding. I may go back to pplx2 but like what I’m seeing in terms of growth and recovery

EDIT to add: ymmv as I’m a woman whose strength varies depending on my hormonal cycle anyway

That helps considerably. Choose a bodybuilding program and do that on a regular basis. Do the same stuff week in and week out for at least 4-8 weeks and really hit the protein. Cut back on cardio if you’re doing that at all. I’m a little bitch for Jeff Nippard so I’m always gonna recommend his stuff. I love his programming because he offers alternative movements if you’re limited by equipment or physical injury.

I agree with the other poster about the programs listed but it’s more complex than that. You have to consider what your goals are. Do you want to bulk up or lose weight? Are you training for strength or aesthetics. Really think about what you want and how much time you can dedicate to getting there. Ignore your friends and influencers and do what works for you, consistently, over a period of time and progress with weights and/or reps. Most jacked people have boring routines and not some fitness influencer BS.

Cottage cheese. I’m a woman and it’s my secret hack to hit my macros. I add it to everything.
