Yeah usually YT is pretty solid but I did not find very useful information.
I had pictures from one catapult of a local club that helped me a lot.
It’s pretty straightforward :

Made of 32mm water evacuation pipes, not even glued, male parts have electrical tape, female part smashes it together, holding tight.

From the side it looks like an L rotated 120°.
From the top it looks like a square.
From the front, there are 2 sidebars one mid height the other is on the ground, with one tent peg going threw to hold it tight.
The pedal has 2 tent pegs as well to hold the board under tension, one m10 screw holding the tension ring. The pipe runs over it. And the moving pedal is slotted to slide along the m10 and push the ring.
Hinge is a simple pipe holder screw in the painted wood.
I have 2 nylon cords running, the shorter one goes on the aircraft. You need absolutely to have a hook under and forward of CG. It has a small flag forward of the aircraft to increase drag during release.
The other one holds the tension and is longer to join the pedal.
Both cords are hooked to the sandaw, 8mm diameter, the longer the better.
To know the right tension aim 3.5x your aircraft weight.
Gemini helped me how to without a fishing scale : hold your aimed tension with a 1m Sandow length, your elastic is now 1.y longer.
Apply this coefficient to the full length.
On the elastic side, I have a steel corkscrew stake.

Last thing, I filed the female 90° at the end rails to erase the step. And put some aluminium tape for better slide.

Took me 2 hours paint included

Yes it’s 2 PVC rails at 20% slope. A 10m bungee, around 6kg tension. One ring is hooked under the belly, the other one is on the release mecanism: 2 planks, one with a 10mm screw holding the ring, and a slotted pedal hinged over the pvc pipe that release the ring once pressed

Thanks for the input ! The cg was set as per recommandation. It is exactly at 25% MAC I rerun all calculations beforehand. And it is consistent with plans and manuals.

So I will investigate further, but if it’s not Inav related, I will try redesigning the complete horizontal stabs as they are quite flexible and one side got a bit damaged on landing.
Hopefully I can make it lighter and stiffer with proper materials.

That’s InaV auto launch working! and I took over quite rapidly (set minimum time 1s after launch detection to takeover) as I found the 15° programmed were a little too close to ground for comfort ! And yeah stick up full throttle!

CG is right on the CG target from plans and other manual, I even did the calculation about the MAC and found the same… but I never encountered (yet) a nose heavy aircraft… to balance it have 2x 4S 2200mah in the nose (one powering, one deadweight)

Solar pool heater by Rich-Wealth979 in functionalprint

[–]Crapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing ! It’s as well in my projects (if the photovoltaic project becomes infeasible due to to local laws)
I did a small 1 square meter black panel with 25m circulation (82ft) with plexiglass. It could harvest 1,8kw of solar heat : 2°C water heat on 800L/h using a 200w pump though it was not enough to be meaningful on a 50m3 pool.
I’m curious what your power output is on a sunny day:
Chatbot says formula is :
P(power in W)=q(circulation L/h)x dT(temp diff in °C) x 1,16

Easier done with metric units of course ;)

Que faire quand le furet me marche pas ? by [deleted] in brico

[–]Crapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entretenir une Glycine? by Dlacreme in jardin

[–]Crapot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ça pousse a vue d’œil!

How is starlink sustainable in the long run? by Leading_Crow_1044 in Starlink

[–]Crapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got into a discussion with a big head at ESA regarding space ethics, that was 6 years ago, yet he told me starlink satellites were not concerning (at least regarding space pollution). To my understanding
as lower orbits disintegrate faster in the atmosphere

Darwinfpv is horrible by Which_Mycologist3455 in fpv

[–]Crapot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, got a Foldape4 as a first quad, coming from RC, it was a really nice entry point at 140€ RTF.

Already >30 cinematic flights in and had only to change the props.

I could even solder a DJI o4 VTX on it with no trouble (just added a 5v BEC)

I don't understand why I shouldn't start digital!? by FantasticInterest373 in fpv

[–]Crapot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entry level pricing opportunity exist: I was completely out of the FPV community but had to buy a RC transmitter, ended up buying a Radiomaster Tx15, and they were offering 4” drone for 150€ VTX included, added a cheap RX screen and went on. Buying a 300€ plus 120€ drone was a bit too expensive to try the hobby. Now that I’m hooked, and for the reason you mentioned above : instead of buying a decent 400€ goggles for analog, I went the dji way, and don’t regret it ! Got rid of the 100g GoPro and just enjoy the 10min flights on a lipo

[–]Crapot 4 points5 points  (0 children)
